yah the three Dog bit could have been written just a bit better. heck have him say that he thinks your dad may have gone to the museum and its Vault tec exhibit to try and look up where some "Von brain" guy went, and as long as your there. . . . see if you can loot that radio dish and send it to the guys at the monument, and anything else there you might find useful...

Okay then, so if they are listening to his station for the music and no his pro ghoul views and useless advice... then what make Three Dog such a great character? One that just has to be back for Fallout 4?

"If Three Dog were here, he would say something witty.

... but he can't because someone KILLED him!"

Utter bliss to my ears.

Took a little diving (I guessed lucky when I picked a random page to start looking for the thread. Only two off), but you reminded me of a monologue I wrote for President Eden's return a few years ago.

Spoiler
Dear, America. There are those out there in the Hell that we call the Wasteland who would like to have you believe that the Enclave is no more. That its resources, its bases of operations, its armies, have all been destroyed, scattered, or otherwise incapacitated. They would have you believe that the government of the United States of America, the greatest nation that has ever existed, has finally fallen into the darkness of oblivion, never to be seen or heard from again.

To that I have only one thing to say: Preposterous. It is preposterous to claim that the Enclave is gone, that it has been defeated now and forevermore by the likes of some egocentric terrorist, arrogantly calling himself the "Chosen One," or some "Lone Wanderer" and his posse of Power Armored Boy Scouts and their 40 foot tall talking tin can!

Rest assured that the Enclave still exists. From the sea to shining sea, we remain.

For the Enclave is you, dear America.

And as long as there is one heart beating with love for this country, and loyalty to its true government, the Enclave will never perish.

So rest now, dear America. Rest now, knowing that the Enclave is watching over you, now and forever. Rest, knowing that soon, the Enclave will restore this great nation to the way it was before the War. No! We shall ascend even higher than that! For we are One! We are the Enclave! We are the United States of America!

Well, you pretty much spelled it out. Three Dog is a pompous ass who lies to send you on a suicide mission so he can keep preaching into the radio about "Fighting the Good Fight" while the hypocrite stays locked into the equivalent of Fort Knox surrounded by a military force.

And as Styles said, his advice is worthless. He's a freaking radio hippy who, quite frankly, is constantly endangering the Vault Dweller by reporting on their every move. And he calls all his listeners "children". That's not condescending or anything. :nono:

Might not be Lyon's BoS in Boston....they could either be MWBoS (or the new canon on what happened to the expedition sent East that became the MWBoS) or one or more chapters of the WBoS pulled up stakes and headed East before the NCR overran them.

Three Dog was kinda annoying, though I liked him anyway. But I don't see him knowing what is going on in Boston. A really strong AM transmitter, say in the 50,000w range, can reach out for hundreds of miles around....I live in Central IL and there is a AM station in Toronto I can receive clearly most nights...if the weather was just right, or it was after dark, you could probably pick up GNR in Boston. But what you would hear is what is currently going on in the Capital Wasteland. Would be a interesting way to learn the canon ending of FO3.

Only for him to be killed off by the cogent argument of
"you're bad, die" *boom* .Can't believe Bethesda destroyed (figuratively and literally) Eden via such inept writing...

It's like they copied the idea of the Master, but didn't put any thought behind it at all.

Personally I would've wanted it to be like it was actually Col Autumn planning the genocide, and Eden was the one who wanted to restore America with the current population intact, with an option to properly side with Eden and take the Purifier for him.

Alas, it was not so.

That's why I always use the logical fallacy loop against him.

At least thats a fairly fitting way for killing him given the stereotype of always being able to cause a machine to explode with one.

They're bringing the idiot back.

Casuals just love hearing themselves glorified on the radio.

Mcdowell's silky-smooth voice is what saves Eden's character.

Three Dog svcks. That is all. We better have the chance to kill him at least again.

What if Ron Perlman is a post Apoc DJ?
He is The Narrator for the FO games, because along
with spinning records, he is a storyteller. Some stories contain made up bits- about grey men flying around in saucers, for instance. Blended in with the real stories, the events that have shaped the re-emerging world, and the characters that brought them about. He is well know for his tagline, at the beginning and ending of each saga. "...And war... ...War never changes."

I'm hoping Three Dog returns. I watched an interview and he seems like a really nice guy. I am hoping that they slightly increase the music budget for this one though. Oh and bring back Dashwood!

Bitter much? :P

But seriously....I have to wonder what role he could play, for example why would he move GNR to Boston? That doesn't really make sense. Now, if they made it so you could import a old FO3 save and he would be broadcasting from back in the Capital Wasteland and his news segments would be him talking about going on there based on the events in your LW's career, that would actually be kinda cool.
