So I'm goin to the galaxy news radio building I'm able to get in and go in and out. So I accept Three Dogs quest to setup the new radio dish and I do the mission. I go to the Washington monument and all I have to do is go to Three Dog right? So I go to the door (I fast traveled idk if that may have been the problem cuz it shouldn't) and the door action is red and it says "Key Required" and I'm pretty sure I didn't have a key when I first entered the building cuz the only thing I can do is pick the lock but I can't cuz it keeps saying key required. And I'm 42 hours into the game so starting over is not one of my top choices. So is there a key or what? Help!!

Try to talk to the intercom near the door. (if you mean the door of GnR that is)

Did you kill the behemoth and stuff first time you ve been there?

I've heard of this glitch, but not have experienced it myself. Did you wait to get the response from the guard, something like "All clear, unlocking outer doors." After you hear that, and you should hear that after battling the behemoth there, the door should be open for you forever. In fact, if I go there again, they say something like, "The friggin door is open already, give me a break."

The fixes that I have read about:

1. Get your lockpick up to 100 and pick the lock.

2. The back entrance is up one story from an accessible area in the back of the building. Go to the area, and drop, one at a time, 5 mm rounds. Each round will create an ammo box. You can use this "ladder" to get in the back door.

3. Reload a save prior to the behemoth battle. Don't know how far back this is for you.

you need a pass word to get into the monument. three dog was to have given the password. don't know why he didn't. mod conflict? you did get the dish?

when the game says key required it means that it doesn't want you to go there at that point. going places before a quest is given or a quest items obtain can mess up the quest.

oh, i see. once you cleared out the area around the GNR, you should be able to enter anytime. i heard that if you exit that building the same way as you entered, first time talking to 3 dog, there is a back exit, something gets messed up. not getting credit for the quest doesn't mean that you can't win the main quest.
