I'm currently in camoran's paradise, and I've run into an issue that's preventing me from progressing at all. I receive the notification that I've acquired the bands of the chosen and it's added into my quest log, but when I check my inventory, it's nowhere to be found. I've re-loaded the save file multiple times and tried going about it different ways, none of which have worked. I've tried un-equipping all of my current items before receiving the bands, I've dropped all my items prior to receiving it, I've tried both ways of getting the bands (fighting him/serving him), and I've just straight-up killed him right before he even initiates conversation. Nothing works. It doesn't show up in my inventory, despite saying that I have it.

My only possible theory is that somehow, this has something to do with the shivering isles. I have the standard ps3 disc, and a week ago I tried out the shivering isles using my save file and a friend's GOTY edition disc. I didn't leave the isles "properly"; I just loaded in my disc and loaded up my save file, still in the isles, and was simply teleported into the imperial city. When I first loaded my save I experienced slow load times and some lip-syncing issues, but when I quit and loaded a second time, everything went just fine. I didn't experience any serious glitches or anything out of the ordinary until today. This glitch svcks. Anyway, I plan on loading my save file using my friend's GOTY-edition disc again and seeing if that somehow, magically, does the trick and I can get on with the quest. It doesn't seem likely but it's the only thing I can think of at this point.

Does anyone else have any other suggestions, experiences, or other advice? I do have a back-up save...but unfortunately, I haven't saved over my back-up in about a week and I've progressed a LOT since then, because I've been playing Oblivion like crazy. And considering I can't fast-travel/leave from paradise without completing this quest...I'd be pretty frustrated if I ended up stuck. >.<

i have the exact same problem, occured last night. I'm level 38 on Xbox 360. I've done everything you've done but nothing happens. The item DO NOT appear in my inventory.

I've downloaded the latest patch from XBL some days ago (i abandoned the game years ago) and the only DLC i have is the Wizard Tower. I have the ooooold collectors edition disc, UNscratched or dirty and the game runs from the HDD. Nothing altered like the friend above. Just plain Oblivion HDD install, applied patch, continued the story and BANG! I hit a wall of bug.

Tried erasing the cache by holding A during game boot, no luck at all.

This is so annoying.... I'm close to finish the game and this glitch ruins it all.

(also, if a guard tries to arrest me, i pay the fine but then asks me again to pay, if i choose jail nothing happens at all....no jailtime!!!!! strange cross-platform bugs guys....)
