In game console (For all Platforms)

Post » Sun Nov 15, 2009 2:13 am

Alright this is a request i've had for a while, i'm not even sure if it would work but alright. One of the things I would love to see is players being able to plug in a USB keyboard into the console and clicking the tilde key (~) and having a console come up and being able to type stuff in just like on the computer.

I would love to see something like this, (Two Worlds) ect...

Your guy's opinion?

Are there any console games that give you access to the developer console like this? If not I'd guess MS and Sony don't allow it.

I don't know if Microsoft allows it or not. Sony doesn't seem to care at all about this sort of thing. That said, there aren't any console games that allow it, mainly because it's a feature that doesn't really make much sense without a keyboard and keyboard support isn't something most console games have to begin with (besides which it's generally locked even in PC releases, at least until you do some INI editing).

There are lots of people who would like it. But trust me, it isn't going to happen. It's just the kind of stuff that would only be available on PC.

If I recall the 360 version of Two Worlds had a way to access the console and modify quite a few things (things that made the game run better).
