Game crash when entering building

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 7:03 pm

I've not long started the game and so far everything has run smoothly, until I went to enter the Freedom Museum area in Concord. When I've been outside and in the vault everything ran like a dream. However, when entering the building it crashes to desktop every time. Besides that, so far I've had no issues and been able to run it smoothly on the recommended settings set as high. Have tried windowed mode and medium settings to see if it made a difference, but nope. I'm running = Graphics card is GeForce GTX560, drivers up to date. i7-3770CPU @ 3.4ghz
anyone else had the same?

Hmmm. Might be game related. Too early to tell.

Im sure updates will be released.

For now, are you using mods? Not too many out now anyway.

Does this happen on a previous save? Remember to save OFTEN. Use NEW manual saves as well. Do not rely on quicksaves.

Nope, no mods. For the hell of it, I right clicked in steam and did the "Verify files" or whatever the option was .. I remember it fixed a problem with a previous game I had. So it identified 16 missing files apparently and is downloading them now. So when that's done I'll give it another go and also try from an earlier save point and report back

Probably shouldn't have done anything to it, now it doesn't launch at all. Application error 30000065432

e: ok false alarm. Restarted computer and launched the game and it seems to be working now - am able to enter the building without a crash. At leas that's progress!

Hey there, thepokey!

Can you please post your dxdiag for us to check out your specs and driver dates? This may help narrow down the issue. Also are you running Nvidia's streamer service? Disabling this may help get rid of some of the crashing you're experiencing!

Hey, I'm not sure if I am running the streamer service? Not that I know of? Drivers are all up to date though

The DxDiag is below, hope that helps!

Thanks!

After reviewing your specs, we see that your GPU is 1g, and Minimum requirements for Fallout 4 require a 2gb GPU.

That seems a bit strange..considering the auto detection for graphics sets them at high, and the fact it was running flawlessly for the first 2 hours of game play?

Sure it isn't some other issue?

Also, whenever I have installed it and used steam to validate the files, it said firstly that 18 files were not validated and needed to be downloaded (18gb), I decided to reinstall, then try to run it and I get an error of 3:0000065432 which doesn't let me launch it. So I tried validating again and now says 22 files were not validated and need to be downloaded (22gb) ... why are so many files constantly not validating and requiring such huge downloads?

I understand that my GPU isn't ideal for it, but there's got to be more problems with it than that if it is having to re-download so many files and if my GPU was handling it fine at first.

So I verified the files again, it downloaded the 22gb, the game started up again and I was able to enter the building. Thought it was going well, again, ran totally smoothly until I had to leave the building and go back to the outside area. It seems any load screen kills it and causes the crash. Which is weird because none of the initial load screens in the prologue such as entering/leaving the vault crashed the game and that was back when I was running it on high settings.

I really don't have the cash to upgrade my GPU at the moment, so I'm hoping after some patches are released that it'll sort itself out without having to upgrade just yet (although I know I have to at some point soon).

Is there any reason why it keeps identifying unverified files and wants to download basically the entire game again? Immediately after it crashed I thought I'd check the verification out again and this time it was 11 files and a 16gb download it wants. I think I'm just going to delete the game until some more patches come out and give it a try then. Shame really, but should have expected it.
