Game crashes consistently after 20 hours of smooth gameplay

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 11:19 pm

I have been playing this game for the past week and loving it. However recently over the past days I have had issues with the game crashing at random without giving me error messages. Will there be an upcoming patch for this or is this a problem specific to me? I visited an area known to cause crashes(near bunker hill) but even if I leave that area I constantly crash now. Please help if you are aware of possible solutions.

Thanks for reading!

40 hours in here not seeing nasty issues like that yet, knock on wood.

I say that as I recall having constant crash issues in FO3 or FONV after a save became corrupt due to some quest glitch or other factors... there is every

reason to believe same can and will happen here as well, in time. That is why I try to keep fresh saves as backup so I wont' lose more than a couple hours at a time.

That said.... have you done any console trickery? Some console commands in the hands of us who are not devs or with detailed knowledge can lead to corruption issues

in a save.

Have you used any mods? Esp mods can be high risk especially without toolkit out yet, some texture mods can cause issues that don't show up right

away. I always try to use rule of thumb to save a known good point before loading any mod, then test a bit before presuming it will be okay later down the road.

That isn't always the case though , as experience showed in FO3, FONV and Skyrim. Stuff happens.

Can you revert to a earlier save to see if that issue goes away? If so that is a sure sign of some sort of corruption in the other save.

JUst a few ideas, luck.
