Game crashes loading exterior cells, load order?

Post » Thu Jul 28, 2011 11:37 am

Ok so my game has started crashing when I leave an interior space to enter an exterior space. It's not on every load, only after about 30 minutes of play. I am not really savvy on what kinds of mods can affect stability, but the game doesn't exhibit this behavior when modless. This load order is pure BOSS, but that doesn't mean it's flawless. Please take a look and let me know if there are any major problems. My gut tells me it's one of the mods that universally modifies things, like Nevada Skies or IMAGINATOR. But I hope not, as those are very nice mods.

EDIT: Do I even need a merged patch with this list? I read that it might help stability but it doesn't seem to do anything one way or the other.

That version of the community bugfix patch hasn't been updated for the last two FNV patches, use the one from http://www.ravenmodding.terminal47.net/?gtlang=en.

Depending on how much RAM you are sporting, your memory could just be full (the beth engine crashes out at 2g Oblivion, FO3, FONV). You can try typing PCB (purge cell buffer, dumps extraneous data which should get cleaned up normally but doesnt) in the console before transitioning, that may help. I believe there is also a mod that auto purges, but it's timed, not on transition, and purge cell buffers in the exterior world can (or used to) cause funkiness.

I've got 8 gigs of RAM and 1 gig of video RAM. I've got the Purge Cell Buffers mod installed, but I didn't know you could do it manually. I'll try that next time I suspect a crash is near. I've gotten good at predicting them :P
