Game crashes. Makes me sad.

Okay, the game is crashing. I just bought the game, installed it (digital download from Steam for $4.99). I clicked play, it opened the launcher. I hit play and it launched. After I hit new game and watched the intro movie, the loading screen showed up for a couple seconds, then crashed.

I have tried running the game at least 6 times, crashing the whole time. I even put my settings down at medium just to eliminate that option.

My specs (clearly exceed/ crush the minimum specs:
Intel Core-i5 2500k
Geforce GTX 570
8 gb 1600 ddr3 ram
1 tb Seagate barracuda
Gigabyte z68xp-ud3 motherboard

You'll be able to run the game no problem on 'High' settings.

Have you confirmed that Steam has updated to the latest patch?

How about your graphics drivers? I assume you are running Win7 64-bit with 8GB RAM.

Yes, i do have the latest drivers. Installed them when I built that computer about 1 1/2 months ago.

But even if I didn't, shouldn't stop the game from running. Old game and a video card that came out a year ago, you think that people just used then current drivers that didn't work?

No, but NV has been patched since the last 'stable' Nvidia drivers were released.

I have had several occasions where re-applying drivers AFTER a game update have fixed CTD issues.

Okay will do.

Makes me mad at Bethesda because their tech support is [censored]. The official site only has a few problems, and you can't really contact them from tech support. So if you have a problem which they don't have listed (say... crashing... since bethesda games never crash), then you are boned.

I have same exact problem, also I've tried the "Verifying integrity of game cache" and after it's completing it, I get "1 files failed to validate and will be reacquired"
Now I don't know what needs to be done to fix said file or if that is even the root problem to the crashing.

I reinstalled the graphics drivers and it worked. Thanks for the suggestion.
