Game crashes, screen freeze,

Post » Sun Oct 10, 2010 11:18 am

this started yesterday, first during a change of location, the roulette wheel ball stopped rolling and the new location never loaded. I cleared out the system cache, and even move some games so that I now have over 7 GB free on xbox. Today the screen froze three more times. First, when I was finished talking to a merchant, next after I activated a radio, and finally just after talking to the doctor. I give up, I love the game but can not take the frustration of this.
Please, is there a fix for this? Is this my game disk or an operating error?
Help.

Don't you think there should have been an option between "2 or 3 times" and "too many times to count?" There's a big difference between these two amounts.

Anyway, yeah, the game has frozen on me about 5 times. I've played for about 15 hours. The freezes have always happened randomly during gameplay, never in a menu or load screen yet.

Somehow I seriously doubt we'll see the words "Fixed random crashing" in the bug fix list. We'll probably have to live with this annoying aspect of the game. They'll fix some specific scenarios and quest options that cause crashing, but random freezing is probably part of this game's nature.

Mine has frozen during play quite a few times, and now it crashes everytime I enter the strip with one character (it just started doing that, and this character has been in and out of the strip multiple times before that, but now I can't enter the strip with that character unless I load an old save that is like 12 or 13 levels ago).

I am 35 (wasted) hours into the game. It freezes for me about every 3-5 minutes no matter where I am and no matter what I am doing. I absolutely love this game. I played FO3, bought every single add-on, and acquired every achievement. Yet I am the only one so far that voted I have given up on New Vegas and I meant it. I returned my game today to Gamestop and used it towards COD: Black Ops. I am not going to support a company that is this careless with their product(s). I will also my telling my friends to avoid this game as well. I don't care if there is a fix coming in the "near" future. It isn't coming fast enough and I shouldn't have to wait for a patch to play a game. They could at the very least do a better job at updating us here on the message boards. But since "the coming weeks" isn't good enough for me, and it shouldn't be for the rest of you, I am done.

PS: I hope someone loses their job over this.

More times than I can count.
I have also had the same problem with the Strip that others have mentioned. It's infuriating that I purposely did everything I could find before going there, just to savor the moment. Now, I am left wandering the wasteland dangerously close to the level cap while exploring buildings and such that I previously didn't bother with. The patch better fix that or I will be rather miffed.

Oh come on! My game didn't just freeze. I can't load it at ALL!! I put it on my hard drive and I can't play it from there. I have the disc in and I can't play it from there either. I would love to have JUST the occasional freeze. But I can't play at all. That is unacceptable! Why release a game that deteriorates into an unplayable coaster for my drink.
I loved Fallout 3 and couldn't wait for New Vegas. I paid in advance and waited four weeks for this game. Now, I'm just not gonna bother anymore, and no more Bethesda games.
All they had to do was test it before releasing it. Poor quality, and a terrible footnote on a company that gave us Fallout 3, a game that I've played 6 diferent times. How games can say that! Not many have that kind of replayability.

Shame on you Bethesda

More times than I can count, definitely, I would still gladly live with this alone if it weren't for save games being knackered, I really love this game, but I can't play it till it's patched for the saves to work, I simply do not have the time to repeatedly push 30 hour+ playthroughs. I can understand these glitches occuring on PC's with the huge variations in software & hardware, but for console?, as much as it is a little old fashioned PC they are all the same and surely the smallest amount of QC should have picked up on this!. In all honesty I have never come across something like this in the past on any platform and I hope I do not again.

We tried the Cowboy hat trick and it works for when you are entering the Strip. I deleted all but three saved games, and it is crashing less. But this morning I started it up and the screen came up with a lot of dashes and froze at the obsidian logo, had to reboot three times to get it to load.
