Game crashes in 3 seconds after launching

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 5:05 pm

Dear Developers,

Can you help me please?

I can't launch my Fallout Shelter.

Essentially I can, but in 3 seconds it just crashes and I can't do anything.

I donated to this game quite lot, so I don't want to lose my game progress.

Thanks in advance,

Denis

I also have this problem. I'm on android on a Nexus 5. Last night while playing the game started to slow down mid game so I switched to flight mode. This made it crash and ever since won't even get to the 'load vault' option before it closes. I've restarted my phone and cleared the cache several times but nothing fixes it.

Once you have this bug, your game is unrecoverable, and progress is lost. The Vault file has been rendered to zero size (see elsewhere on this forum and others).

After this happened to me, I vowed never to let it happen again, so I built a simplistic backup companion app that protects my game. My backup program makes live backups every time Fallout Shelter saves, and offers you the chance to recover it. It also makes a daily backup. The on-the-fly backups have had issues, but the daily backups have been reliable and saved both my wife's and my own Shelter a few times. My program can also predict when your vault is at risk of being corrupted, and warns you not to change to a new program until it says it is safe.

Send me a personal message on this forum if you want me to send you the installer for this backup program.

I'm sorry about your currently lost vaults; you really aren't going to be able to get them back. You'll need to either use a file manager to delete the 0b "Vault1.sav" (or Vault2.sav or Vault3.sav, depending on the offending slot) to let the game boot up again, or simply re-install Fallout Shelter.
