I don't know what happened, I have several hours clocked in but now the game wont even start at all. The furthest I've gotten to was the loading screen but it still crashes without error there.

I've literally tried every last thing the internet has given for me to do, everything. I don't even want to name it all, I've done so much.

Please, I need this game working again.

Same issue, Actually. Anytime I hit Ctrl or "W", or let it sit idle, it crashes without error. Very confusing and aggravating!

Sorry, I'm trying to get the spoiler working.

I had mods installed but I removed them, and did a reinstall later on. I tried running it offline and had the same problem. I haven't tried reinstalling my OS, but I've seen from other sources that it didn't work so I don't want to go through the hassle. So far I've:
1) Updated and Rolled Back drivers
2) Reinstalled game
3) Set to windowed borderless
4) Dumbed down graphics settings
5) Optimized graphics settings
6) Set to compatibility mode for my version of windows (8.1)
7) Opened in administrator mode.
8) Several computer restarts
9) Verified game cache
10) Set to beta mode
11) Disabled steam overlay
12) Updated game
And some other things I'm pretty sure, can't remember them at the moment.

It started out of the blue, but to be completely honest the other night I decided to add my first few mods and it worked all night, then I shut down my PC, went to sleep, came back from work the next day and it crashed all day as I searched for a solution, I'm not sure if it was the mods, but if it was, I did a reinstall so I don't know if they'd still affect it.

I enjoy this game, but if it keeps doing this it's a huge waste of money, so if you can help in any way possible, please and thank you.

Bump for this to get solved ASAP, really, this is an incredibly serious problem that many people are having, without any fixes. I don't know why it's being so downplayed, Bethesda is really close to losing a loyal customer.

What did you do when you reinstalled? Removing local content likely isnt enough. I would remove FO4 directory manually. ALso go here: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\ and Delete the Fallout4 directory.

Backup and remove the directory here: C:\.......\Documents\My Games\Fallout4 BACK IT UP FIRST

Based on the fact that you installed mods, then played fine, then shut down the computer for the night, then came back the next day and the crashing started after booting, gives clues to the issue. I definitely would rule out an OS reinstall, as well as any hardware issues. This is a software issue, most likely, a configuration issue. Something changed after you installed a mod, something that didn't take effect until a reboot, at least that's what it sounds like.

When you reinstalled the game, did you install to a brand new folder?

Or...were there any remnants (loose files) left over in the folder you installed to?

If not, try reinstalling again, to a non-existent folder (completely deleting the original after you perform the uninstall). Also, make sure to delete any and all save & ini files from your \user\My Documents\My games\Fallout 4 folder (or what ever user folder window 8 uses as I'm still on 7 and am not aware of Win 8 folder hierarchy.) and then delete that folder too. Make sure it is completely clean.

Then make sure you've disabled Steam's cloud synchronization - this will upload corrupt save files from the cloud to your PC. If you don't know how to do this, it can be found under Steam > Settings > Cloud from the menu bar in steam.

Well it starts the game up now but for some reason it takes up 100% of my CPU power (Which wasn't the case before) and I get like 7 FPS, I have over 70 hours clocked in on this game and that whole time it played smooth with minimal crashing, so idk what's wrong now.
