Game in Favor of the NCR?

Post » Thu Apr 16, 2009 3:28 am

Actually, that guy surrendered just so he can insult the NCR and escape.

If he were like that, he would have told the NCR about Caesar's plans.

[censored] I should of really explored that plot branch differently....regardless I know everyone in that organization isn't drinking that Kool Aid simply ready to die for Caeser.

Off topic: You're going to get banned if you curse again.

On topic: Of course they are. If they get commands to kill themselves, they'll do it.

When I talked to him, he shot a NCR Cpl. in the head, stole his uniform and escaped.

Well, see I like the Legion.

And as I said, that NCR Cpl. couldn't take a Silenced .22 round to the head, while he was wearing a helmet.

you cant just have a DLC based on just one faction maybe some people dont like that particular faction.

Would having one piece of DLC focusing on the Legion really be that bad? I mean, we have the entire game dedicated to the NCR, and in my honest opinion, I feel that Legion lore is something that needs to be expanded upon (This is not the first game with the NCR, FYI).

Yes well I want it he wants it most of us want it so you know what im getting at.
Then less people will buy it. you should make it around neither faction like dead money have it neutrual. Every ta body happy

I highly doubt that.
OT: Yes, the fact that they are spread this large and this thin makes me wander how many are back in California.

Yeah, the Legion was kinda underdeveloped. But it was the most fun playthrough for me.

If there is DLC that is focused on Legion, I hope it's not overt. I don't want to play DLC with one of my current characters only to find out I have to terrorize and enslave everybody and [censored] up my reps with everybody. That would make me really, really angry.

Even though that I am an NCR supporter, I will have to agree with you. I find that there are way too little pro-Legion quest in the game and in forces you to wait all the way until mid-game to side with them or else you will get locked out of lots of quests. They really should add more Legion quests and locations in a DLC pack or something.

Lets hope major faction land will be better balanced in Fallout 4, and of course Talon Company.

For sure, would love to join Talon Company.

And if they don't bring the Enclave back I'm going to be VERY disappointed.

Eeeeh I'd say Remnants, Enclave is kinda dead.
Would be nice to have a new faction that emerged from Enclave's ashes though.

My guess is that this lack of Legion quests and Legion based oriented gameplay will be rectified in an upcoming DLC (honest hearts is what im thinking of).

Unless that DLC gives us at least two legion companions (One slave, one legionnaire.) and some more Legion quests in the main game then it's just going to be another arcade game, only good thing that'll come out of it will be Legion lore but the actual storyline will surely be as necessary as Dead Money's was.

Sure you can, the pro-NCR people could go in undercover and help out the opposing side in the DLC.

TBH the game favours these.
NCR in quantity of content.
House in quality of content.
Yesbot, in freedom of choice.
CL in getting sent to bed early, because you were naughty.

Just because they were their first is not an excuse for being under-powered.

Isn't this about NCR being over powered as in everywhere you go?

NCR is huge. NCR won first battle of the dam. Caesar waits across from the dam to build power. He attacks NCR's flank to get NCR to remove troops from the dam to protect towns and trade ways. NCR everywhere because they got their first.

Mr. House and Yes Man are story paths, not factions.

Which is fair, but is still not an excuse for the severe lack of legion content.

I think it's because NCR is one of the main elements of the whole Fallout series (disregarding FO3). The game follows how NCR starts off as a small town, Shady Sands (Fallout), becomes an aggressively growing republic (Fallout 2) and finally grows outside California (Fallout New Vegas). "War never changes" remember? Humanity destroyed itself, risen from the ashes and then... ? We'll see.

Well, I think everyone makes fair points, and we need to remember to think and let cool heads prevail here.....

That said, I will agree The Legion did not have many missions, and it is due in part that they are trying to occupy the Mojave, like Ceasar in history had his campaign in Gaul to occupy and pacify that location as well, so that the legion was able to get over the river to Cottonwood Cove, take Nelson, irradiate Came Searchlight, and kill every citizen of Nipton save two, before attacking the dam, that is impressive enough, and shows how much trouble the NCR is having controling the Mojave. I think with a Legion Victory, Ceasar ( the original or the legatus) would have difficulties with the Mojave, just like the NCR, as the land is difficult to tame and control, as the NCR is learning right now, but again, that is my estimation
I will also admit the game is weighed in favor of the NCR, and if I were a betting person, i would say somewhere down the road more than likely the NCR conclusion might, and I am only saying might(50/50 chance at best IMHO) be canon with that the odds just seem too in favor of the NCR. If that happens, it will only lead to the NCR only moving to unite more and more territory for future games, leading to more and more difficulties with population and food and water supplies, as they are on the verge of this already.
However, if in the off chance Mister House or the Yes Man/Courier combo takes over, which is possible, then there would be severe trouble for the NCR, as they would not have the room to expand eastward on the Mojave front, and have severe power, and water shortages, not to mention there would be trouble for the Legion to expand or survive at all as well( depending on if they survived Hoover Dam), at least with Mr. House, there would be a good chance of a revival of old world industry and tech, not imeadiately, but eventually it would become more like the old Las Vegas, While the Courier would keep it as is, New Vegas and no one to bother with how things are done, which personally, i like as it keeps the Brotherhood of Steel around, but then again, you can do that with the NCR as well.

In Closing, I agree with the topic, and sympethize with the Legion supporters, but as i like NV as is, the story of the Courier, not the Legion or the NCR, I personally have no real complaints.

I personaly think that if the NCR didnt try to kill all the BOS during helios one they could have the brother hood with them and that would be bad ASS man. Plus even if they would let them help after helios one with the BOS supeior technology they could also wreck the legion with just a group of palidians and knights.

i know i did that and it felt heart warming when i seen the NCR working with the BOS and i seen that palidan beside Col. moore. I meant even before that if they were alliances to help eradicate the Legion.
