Game in Favor of the NCR?

Post » Thu Apr 16, 2009 8:32 am

Mr. House and Yes Man are story paths, not factions.

Topic made no mention to factions, just that on opinion the NCR gained the most favour.
In fact the OP did not use faction at all whether in use as a group, tribe, or choice of ending.
He made use of House and Yesman in his post.

I really can't see why you quoted me?

I never said if, what or how they are represented in game.
Never called them factions, not even the word faction is in my post, just like in the OP it is not.
I just used the proper names...
House.
Yesman.
NCR.
Caesars legion ( CL ).
Then put forward that all but CL were given fair attention.

Also of note if you have an army or are trying to raise one, you plan on taking control and are a regional power.. you're a faction.

some of the quests for the legion already svck as it is.
like getting a howitzer piece for example.
obsidian could have done much more quests but were to bias to do so because they were giving everything to ncr.

We are legion is just about the only truly Legion side quest. The rest are Frumentarii or gathering missions.

I personaly think that if the NCR didnt try to kill all the BOS during helios one they could have the brother hood with them and that would be bad ASS man. Plus even if they would let them help after helios one with the BOS supeior technology they could also wreck the legion with just a group of palidians and knights.

Heh...no. The NCR are ignorant and just pass this option by. I personally think they chose the right path at HELIOS One. The NCR took it over because they wanted power to be given to the whole Mojave Region. The BoS was just going to collect technology from it, hiding its true power to the Mojave. The BoS are and will always be selfish mofos.

Well, see I like the Legion.

And as I said, that NCR Cpl. couldn't take a Silenced .22 round to the head, while he was wearing a helmet.

it wouldnt be any different if it was a Legion person. In fallout 3 when you tell The sherrif in megaton that Mr.Burke wants to blow up megaton you and him go to put him in the jail and When the sherrif turns around Mr. Burke pulls out a Silenced 10mm Pistol and kills him with one shot and i know clearly it would take more because i went into VATS to see. So if a NCR cpl. shot a Legion in the face it would be the same no change.

Yeah, he was pointing out the irony in the comment he was responding to, I believe.

It would.

I think that if they add any new companions they should all be anti-NCR so that by the final quest they might leave you or they might even shoot NCR on sight.
Cause like, Boone kills legionnaires on sight and Arcade, Veronica and Cass IIRC leaves you if you go too far into Legion main quest.
Hell, Arcade and Boone refuses to join you if you have good Legion rep even without starting the Benny part of the main quest.

They were going to have one in the early stages, but they changed their mind, who knows, maybe they might change their minds.

Probably because of the general lack of Caeser Missions and because Arizona is barely in the game.I mean seriously only two locations in game. Idk maybe Fallout Arizona will happen one day....

Due to the hints that they gave in Dead Money he's sure to be back in a future DLC.
Wonder if he'll be a companion then though or if he'll be plot material only.

Not an excuse, Bob. Caesar's Legion is supposed the main opposing faction to the NCR, and the lack of Legion content is just laughable.

Just because they were their first is not an excuse for being under-powered.

The problem is that for some reason there isn't a lot on the other side of the Colorado. Thus you are mostly in territory with a NCR presence. It's unfortunate, but things are therefor more prominently NCR focused.
That said, a lot of those quest do have a outcome that don't benefit the NCR or outcomes that don't really benefit any of those plotting for control.

you cant just have a DLC based on just one faction maybe some people dont like that particular faction.

Well you could always have options and approaches that don't benefit the Legion or quests that come from ordinary people in Legion territory. And the basic premise would have to be that you would go to that Legion controlled territory for something unrelated to the main quest.

Besides, think about it, what would there be to do in Legion Territory, the area is pacified so much, even Raiders are afraid to come out the Legion is so robust and fanatical about control in their area. That is boring, if you fight to take over an area with the legion, and win, what then? Pacify it, take slaves, fight in Gladitorial combat, and it is a mens club( unless your a female courier, even then they put you down) that may be fine for an alternate ending for NV, or more Legion missions, but for a whole DLC, i do not see the point really, besides, i think it will be interesting to see the ramifications of how the return of The Burned Man will play out personally.

How do we know for sure that Legion territory is as pacified as legion say it is? One Merchant outside Legion Camp? Legion are known to use propaganda "Cold, Cold Heart." Legion could pay people to spread stories about how safe Legion made things back West.

Quests for NCR could be to cause trouble for the Legion behind their lines.

Gladitorial Combat areas would be awesome.

Idea I came up with along time ago
Spoiler
You get captured by ceasers legion or volunteer. They take your weapons and armour (Putting them in a save place, will get back.) They then walk you by many tables. On those tables are a number of melee weapons, and low level armour. Some small arms but few ammo. They then tell you to pick.

You can take one armour, one small gun, and up to three melee weapons. You are then led in to a long arena (once a small foot ball stadium). There are dozens of other slaves and some volunteers (ceaser legion Mercs) in the field with you.

A horn is blown and a man yells "let the blood bath begin!"

Catch is not all the people in the field are hostile. Many are afraid and beg for mercy. Only those that are ceaser legion merc are hostile. You then have the option to go on a killing spree, effecting your reputation and karma in a bad way. Or you can try and organize the slave fighters to fight together! If you get some to fight with and kill all the Ceaser legion mercs the crowd cheers your name!. If you go on a killing spree the crowd cheers your name!

If you save the other fighters the man running the fight will come and walk you out of the ring. Once out of the ring you hear screems of death. Look back and see that the guards have let loose death claws and they are killing those that fought with you.

The man in charge will be pissed with you because you are a hero with the crowd, he asks you to take your crap and go. Over time the crowd will want you to come back. The head man will let you fight again but not with other humans only against hostile mutations and ghouls. Traps will be added to the field, because he really hates you.

If you go on a killing spree he will ask you to become a fighter. Giving you better weapons and armour. He will tell you "come back on the 3rd of each month." Each fight will be different, sometimes supermutant, feral ghouls, deathclaws and other.

Cass mentions it too, if you need outside-legion opinion. And it does make sense, ruling with an iron fist.
