Game forces Dx11

Hi there, I recently bought crysis 2 maximum edition on the steam sale and it already came with patch 1.9. As I understand, this patch allowed users to use DX11 and high res textures on the game. However, I dont have a computer able to run at such settings ( my mobility radeon 5650 HD is compatible with dx11 but certainly does not perform well). But when I try to disable directx 11 and high res textures, every single time I restart the game, the frigging options are reset. I already tried using launch options to force it to run on DX9, and I've searched my computer for a settings.dll kind of archive ( to manually change the settings of the game)- but could not find it anywhere.
How on earth do I get my crysis 2 to run on dx9?? Right now the framerates on dx11 are simply unplayable for me.

Not sure about the steam version, but there should be a Crysis 2 folder under C:/user/username/saved games/

There you should have a file named game.cfg. check that. R_driver should say "DX9." If it changes again, edit the file, save it, then mark it as read only. Same goes for resolution.

... and, in the same file, sys_hirestex = 0 (or 1) for textures off (or on).

My Steam version M.E. is updating game.cfg and using the settings correctly.

I don't have any file named game.cfg on my saved games directory.
