After an hour or so of single player gameplay the game freezes when reloading. I have an intercooler on console and I also tried loading the game to my hard drive. Anyone else having problems?

Yeah i have the same exact problem. I played for about 55 minutes it says and decided to try the multiplayer for a bit, then when i went back to the campaign after it loads it just sits on a black screen and wont let me do anything. I have to turn off my xbox to unfreeze it. Someone help!!!!!

Nope, thats odd, but just in case try downloading the game to your hard drive. Hope I can help guys

Same issue here. I play for about an hour or so, then when I try to quit to the main menu, or I finish an area, instead of well, anything, I get a black screen, and that's the end of it. I can't even hit the Xbox Guide button and get out of the game that way. And yes, it's installed to my HDD, so that isn't the issue.

I have this problems in Multiplayer.
In Mutiplayer lobbby, the music dublicates... Freezed in loading screen,black screen.

I've got the game early on X360 (4 hours before 00:00 yesterday), everything's was OK then at 00:00, FREEZE!

I've played sometime in the night then this morning, update. Then with I've got 2 more FREEZES in campaign mode at random point.

Multiplayer seems stable.

It's frozen on me once 30 mins into the campaign and that's it. Multiplayer was completely fine and there is barely any lag and hit detection is GREAT!!

My game is freezing also. Any solutions to fix the problem ? It only in campaign mode.

I restarted my solo campaign, because every time I tried to finish the level I was on, I'd get the Black Screen of Doom.

I was a few levels in, just after you first encounter the aliens. You walk down a long water-flooded tunnel with destroyed cars and buses in it. Eventually you get way to the end, then there are two staircases. One going down (which is completely flooded), and another on the right side leading upward. Going up the right staircase finishes the level, but every time I go up the steps, the screen fades to black and then that's it. I have to turn off the 360.

Yeah, pretty much the same for me. Maybe an hour to an hour and a half into the game it froze right after a checkpoint. Happened right after you destroy the scientists computer and have to fight the helicoptor. This really svcks, freezes my whole system, I have to power off my xbox. I also found references on other forums saying this was happening in the beta. Is my save corrupted? What's up Crytek?

My campaign froze on 6th mission cutscene .... seems like cryengine3 is taking a beating on 360 hardware or there is glitchy code .... restart fixed the problem

Well I got play it for about four hours. Got to the room with the three guys trying to mess something up. Anyway it froze after the helicopter got me and now it loads all the way up to the point where I'm standing with the .50cal in hand. Then nothing else happens just a dark screen that won't load any further. So is this getting a patch work or am I'm dumping this game for Homefront? Just a note I have a new xbox slim less than 5 months old so I know its not my system.

My current 360 is one of the 250GB FFXIII LE consoles. And the game is installed to the HDD. So this seems to be happening to people with a variety of different consoles.

I wonder what causes the fade-to-black crash. Because I once had it happen to me just from trying to quit to the main menu!

Mine froze where you have to get the samples from the crash site. I went under and got the rocket launcher and when I came back up, I was killed. This is when the freezing started for me.

Mine has not frozen in the single player, yet. It froze twice in multiplayer when I was the host (first it disconnects from xbox live then freezes both times) and had to restart console. Only happened when I was the host, but not everytime I was the host, kinda spotty.

Mine froze in campaign just after the first alien encounter (I think from what it sounds like, the same spot that it happened to h2daddy). I died and now whenever I restart, the screen is half dark and my controller is constantly vibrating. I can't even progress from that point. Guess it's time to start over...

If the game is freezing on you, try restarting the campaign. I just did this between last night and today, and I managed to get beyond the point I was getting stuck at. There seems to be something that triggers an issue when the game switches to load screens or the main menu.

i just played the game at friends on his xbox and it did the same thing sometimes it would freeze before it even loaded at all

I get the same thing in the same spot. I walk up those steps and it fades to black and freezes. It happened to me twice yesterday and twice today, same spot. I installed it to me hard drive also. I have the xbox 360 slim

XBOX 360 - For those who get the freeze at the end of Sudden Impact (the first encounter with aliens after the crash site) I found a way around it (not a fix) At the main menu, instead of resuming game, go to campaign, replay mission, and select Road Rage. Its the next level. The only down side that I know of is, you may not start with the same weapons you had, and they have a half of a clip.

PC people are having the same issue. I will try to do the Replay Missions instead of Resuming Campaigh.

My game has froze up a few times as well.

The first time is on Mission 4 (Lab Rat) where you had to fight the helicopter in Gould's lab. I got killed by the helicopter's missiles and when the game re-loaded the level....it froze up. After I turned my Xbox 360 off and back on and then tried to restart from my last save point....the game would just freeze up after the level loaded up. I went to the mission select and selected the mission, that I was on, then it worked fine again.

Another time is at the beginning of Mission 8 (Seat of Power) where you first meet Hargreave. When I was killing the Ceph ticks (bug like enemies) the game froze up on me while trying to kill one of them.

Anyways, it seems like others are having freezing problems as well. I really hope that the development team will look into this and fix the problem(s) as soon as possible.

My save file froze exactly in the same point as yours. I had to start all over again, and it worked.

Everytime I'm playing I think: "Will it freeze again?". This is not a nice experience, Crytek.
