my game has started to freeze 3-5 times a day and its driving me crazy. i dont know whats causing it. i have 147 mods activated in my game. could that be the issue? too many mods?

my spec if it matters:

AMD readeon 7670 2gb

FX 8120 3.1ghz

16GB of ram

windows 7

im also running the game at high-ultra and have all the high res texture packs

is they a fix for these freezes?

It can be mod related, but you can enable Papyrus log and read your log file

First off, you'll need to enable Papyrus logs. Copy these in your skyrim.ini in Documents > My Games > Skyrim >[skyrim.ini]:

[Papyrus]
bEnableLogging=1
bEnableTrace=1
bLoadDebugInformation=1

Notice how they are all on =1, that means it is on ENABLED.

Next, load up your Skyrim as usual and play around until you get a freeze. Now, go back to where your skyrim.ini is but now there is a folder called Logs and now open and read the "Papyrus.0.log" file

--------------------------------------------

You can try to play at high instead of ultra and maybe lower your resolution or even put AA off and try again !!!!

Hi sapguy,
The vidcard on your laptop is okay but not powerful; it's more like mid-range.
I believe ultra, high-res textures, plus mods would be inappropriate for your rig.
Have you not noticed poor performance and a slow, jerky framerate even when it is not freezing...?
There are usually symptoms of illness before a game 'dies'. :smile:

You're asking too much from your machine. :shrug:
But no problem; you never know until you ask, right? Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
All it can say is 'no'...
However if your framerate drops really pathetically low, the game becomes crashy. It may freeze.
Your rig is saying no!
