Game Graphics Not Playing After Intro

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:02 pm

Hi there,

I'm trying to help out my husband with getting Morrowind to play on Windows XP on his Mac laptop running Fusion. To make matters more complicated, he's halfway across the country waiting to ship to Afghanistan and I'm trying to provide tech support via Logmein and a cr*ppy military internet connection... this is all very painful, to say the least.

We've had a whole host of problems with the installation and have managed to muddle through most of them so far, but this one has us stumped: After the game loads the intro movies, the graphics stop playing. He can still interact with the game and the controls work, the dialog boxes will pop up, etc., but you can't see any of the actual gameplay graphics.

We've found solutions for Windows 7, but haven't seen anything for XP. Being a Mac person and also not a gamer, this is WAY over my head. He was really hoping to get this game working before he left for overseas. If anyone has any advice or can point us in the right direction, we would hugely appreciate it.

Thanks so much!!!

BTW, the solution offered on another forum for Windows 7 for the same problem was to shut down (twice) the Desktop Windows Manager. This doesn't seem to exist in XP(?)

Sounds like a graphic driver issue to me, so it might help if he try different graphic card drivers. Sometimes the latest isn't the greatest.

But that's just me guessing, I never heard of this problem before, and I've certainly never tried to run Morrowind on a Mac using Fusion.

Ah, ok. No, it's not in XP.

I've had this problem before, but not on a mac....
I Still had Windows XP though.
Just Re-install morrowind
and if you have both of the expansions install, in this order
Morrowind >> Tribunal >> Bloodmoon

You should try the game even if you aren't a gamer, trust me
You'll enjoy it! :)
