So my game has become unplayable

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 10:03 pm

The massive amount of bugs on release was insulting, but at least I could play.

As of yesterday, my game has become unplayable. I can't fast travel because when I click my mouse on the map screen it closes the map screen. This isn't that big of a deal, however it is part of a bigger series of problems. When I loot bodies, I can no longer use the loot all button for some reason. So I kept playing despite these and other bugs. Then I got to a locked chest. The mouse no longer worked so I was unable to do anything and essentially stuck there. I couldn't even leave the unlocking minigame screen.

Uh... this happen to anyone else?

This is what people have meant by the game is "broken". Some people experience sooner then others (my game became unplayable over a week ago).

What's your hardware look like?
Including mouse and keyboard.

I've never heard of half those problems.

Hmm, I have never run into anything like that, can you try to load a previous save?

Looks like a corrupt ini file. Backup your skyrim.ini and delete it.

Yeah, I'm guessing reinstalling is the only way to go. My hardware is fine - using a less than half-year old gaming laptop. This happened after playing the game for a long, long time, many different character - etc.
