Game Informer Update: UI

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 3:42 pm

i enjoyed them all, but my favorite is definitely the combat one... hearing how blocking works, as well as daggers+stealth, and magic most of all... im REALLY freaking excited!

cant WAIT to unleash my blade and magic and take on dragons!!! :mohawk:

Definitely Technology of Skyrim for me. Combat is a close second.

I'm more interested in the technological aspect of games (well, besides all the main elements of the game) than I am art or anything else.

I'm hoping for two things concerning tomorrow's update.

1. We get more pictures than just the ones that were shown in the magazine article
2. The UI does not appear to be cumbersome in any way on the PC version

I'm really really hoping for a gameplay video, it'd just be nice to end the coverage with something awesome. Instead of just multiple.

Nope. Not with GI in any case. :)

(Could anyone tell me how to get a direct link to the exact quote? I haven't figured it out yet. Thanks)

Click the link on the time ago (where it says like 1 minute ago or something like that).

It took me a bit to figure out as well.

yea bro, im with yeh ecxept fior the #s.

the UI is vastly improved, and i just need to see one video to make sure havok works. bc if it runs smoothly, then there will be dozens of battle animations per creature (at least)

concept art is necessary, but there was excellent concept art in morrowind and oblivion, i'm not saying this concept art is bad, I'm just saying that concept art only goes as far as it can be pushed, and this shiza looks awesome. congrats to the art team, but also congrats to the admins for fast-tracking animations so that we won't be bored for the next 5 or more years.

My favourite so far was the Dragon Shouts article. For me, it really gave a feel for how Skyrim is going to be different and what kind of atmosphere to expect, rather than simply giving an idea of how a certain mechanic will work. Not that I don't love finding out the details on those single mechanics, mind!

I voted art, but for me it could just as easily be the sound, more for the music. I LOVE the way the music is coming along.

Seconded! The time-lapse video is the best just for the uninterrupted sound track. This game is shaping up, nomatter my other concerns, to have an awesome atmosphere, much grittier than Oblivion which is good, and the music has made the strongest impression so far.

The Art of Skyrim has been my favourite so far, but the other videos with the devs (sounds, behind the scenes, interview with Todd) have all been excellent as well. Can't wait to see the UI update this afternoon/tonight! (GMT)

I loved the one about Havok-rigged cloaks and growing horns as you fart in the face of villagers.

Just for the future, how you do it (for old Twitter at least, not sure about the new Twitter), you click the time the tweet was tweeted. If you want the tweet they were replying to, click the "in reply" link next to the time it was tweeted.

I hope it's about either the Main Menu, or the new skill Leveling System with a new skill being revealed.
