I would imagine the dragon summon shout is by far the most difficult to obtain.

It was amazing IMO but I thought that being the last one(I think its the last because the screen is filled)it should of been a beta version or a short demo

They've said many times (and we've had it put up in these threads almost as many) that the hub screen will extend as they add more.

Maybe would work like Fable(II and III) area spells, meaning you are vulnerable when casting, so you might want to cast at two words to stop yourself being hit by the enemies, instead of trying to risk all three.

They said "three levels" each shout have. I don't get it. I thought you had to speak all three words of a shout to get the attack/bonus?

is the summonable dragon your mount?? - The equivalent of the heli in Just casue 2 to be used for fast travel?

I'm not sure, the article just mentioned that it would fight for you.

Does 60 words of power mean 60 dragons scattered across Skyrim?

I don't think so : the words are found on walls ; the dragons are connected insofar you absorb their souls to better your capacities at Dragon shouts. So the numbers don't correlate.

Yeah, I recall in one of the recent updates they saying that it would take 3 words to combine into one dragon shout, so 60 words for 20 shouts works.

I bet there are quests for all of the 60 words! :)

Ah, so killing dragons doesn't give you shouts, just makes the ones you have found more powerful. Gotcha.

Okay so, how are these shouts going to be balanced?

I don't want to be a low-level character and be able to kill things I shouldn't be able to yet because I have dragon shouts.

Only thing I didn't like is that they made it sound that the pc will have a pre-set voice

I'd think they would have the shours recorded differently for each race and six(not sure if this was confirmed or hinted at, I remember reading somehthing about voce reocrding). So there should be 20 possible voices for the shouts, and your character would use just one.

I wonder if Beth could release their dragon rune font.

That would be awesome to write stuff on Word Office.

So the next update is "creating the language behind the dragon shouts". Also, who/what is that figure in the concept art?

I'm disappointed. Not with the article, but that the screenshot isn't full-resolution. Argh!

It said "the amount of time you hold down the shout button is how many words come out"...I thought it had to be three words so why would you hold it down for only one or two?
Tap = one word. Hold for X seconds = two words. Hold for Z seconds = three words.

Think of it like this... FUS!...RO!!!...DAH!!!!!

Edit* To you again. No, the second page of that update is "creating the language behind the dragon shouts." Click the 2 on the bottom of the article.

No :P

Press "Next" at the bottom and you will go to the next page! The next page is about creating the language.

OK, each complete shout is made up from three words that need to be found, the full shout gives you the full bonuses etc, but the incomplete ones still can give you a bonus of some sort. At least this seems to be what is suggested by the article.

Well, it's mentioned that you have to kill dragons in order to make the shouts more powerful, and a low-level character probably isn't going to be able to kill too many dragons, I imagine (or at least hope). That, and making the more powerful words guarded by particularly dangerous enemies should make it balanced to at least some extent...

I don't want to be a low-level character and be able to kill things I shouldn't be able to yet because I have dragon shouts.

Hypothetically speaking, your low-level character would likely have had to go through some extreme preparation, extreme quick-thinking, and extreme luck to either kill a powerhouse dragon or to find the highlight of a powerhouse dungeon (assuming both of those things will be extremely difficult for lower-level characters, of course). So if your low level char does get these shouts, it's likely they'll have gone through hell to earn it.

Very interesting article. It looks like they're actually focusing on keeping to and expanding the lore...you know...rather than ignoring it completely :brokencomputer:

The thought they've obviously given the Dragon language reminds me of the way they focused on such interesting cultural minutiae in Morrowind and (despite sounding like a broken record) ignored in Oblivion. coughcoughAyleidscoughcough.

No slaying dragons gives you their soul which acts basically as an inventory slot. Every soul you obtain is another slot to be able to learn a shout.
