So, in the Riften image, there's a statue in the middle of the towncenter area. I'm probably wrong, but the statue kind of looks like Azura. You can see something like a star held in one hand, and a moon in the other.
It seems pole arms are practically confirmed. They showed multiple pictures (the one with the guy holding the head, and also the one with the rather sixy woman in what looked like elven scale armor) of people holding pole arms.

If this is true than that is really exciting news. I just watched the movie Troy and it made me look at spears in a different light than before. It would be nice if somebody made a thread about spears and pole arms that knew what they were talking about and could preface the thread with interesting information about the weapons.

for the statue, im sure azura comes to to mind as a possibility. but i actually think it might be Mara, seeing as how popular she is in Nordic culture. and the picture will the boats and what not looks most likely to be Riften

"Confirmed" might be too strong yet, but those pieces of art certainly increased my "warm-fuzzy" feeling regarding spears.
