So, in the Riften image, there's a statue in the middle of the towncenter area. I'm probably wrong, but the statue kind of looks like Azura. You can see something like a star held in one hand, and a moon in the other.

Anyone else notice it looks like the Argonian has only two fingers and a thumb?

It wouldn't really make sense.

Does the fact that they are designing statues tell us anything about how far along in development they are?

what lion?

I'm pretty sure it's a lion in the upper left hand corner of that board he's standing in front of.

It seems pole arms are practically confirmed. They showed multiple pictures (the one with the guy holding the head, and also the one with the rather sixy woman in what looked like elven scale armor) of people holding pole arms.

If this is true than that is really exciting news. I just watched the movie Troy and it made me look at spears in a different light than before. It would be nice if somebody made a thread about spears and pole arms that knew what they were talking about and could preface the thread with interesting information about the weapons.

No... Those are generic fishery working members of Riften. What makes you think Dwemer?

http://img80.imageshack.us/img80/2086/ss20110126190244.png looks pretty much exactly as some kind of polearm.
And if polearms are in, I bet spears are too :)

Although the architecture and boats (which would most likely be modern, you don't keep boats forever) suggest Nordic culture.

I love that old man and it's armor. Seems aged but still capable of being a powerful ally (or foe..).

Also love the Nordic village in a rainy day. If the atmosphere in Skyrim is as cool as that.....wow, just wow.

Makes sense, but still Riften is close to Morrowind. It's possible there's a portion of Dunmer culture there too.

I hope the boats on the docks have life to them. Shipyards are supposed to be busy. Where were the caulkers? The works milling about etc?

for the statue, im sure azura comes to to mind as a possibility. but i actually think it might be Mara, seeing as how popular she is in Nordic culture.
and the picture will the boats and what not looks most likely to be Riften

"Confirmed" might be too strong yet, but those pieces of art certainly increased my "warm-fuzzy" feeling regarding spears.
