Game Informer Update Today

Post » Sat Feb 26, 2011 10:41 pm

Also love the Nordic village in a rainy day. If the atmosphere in Skyrim is as cool as that.....wow, just wow.

Let's also hope the wet and reflective look on the cobblestones actually makes it into the game when it rains.

I'm really confused by this comment?

I think they mean that statues are a rather in-depth detail that suggests perhaps that they are far along in development. They want to know if others agree. I think they probably are fairly far along. I mean it's 2009.

Makes sense, but still Riften is close to Morrowind. It's possible there's a portion of Dunmer culture there too.

If it is Azura, there is a possibility- a slight possibility, but it's there- that a group of Nords have turned to worship her in appreciation for what she did to the Dunmer.

While the Nerevarine certainly made things better in the very short term for Morrowind (and much, much better in the Long Term for Tamriel), the... LATER ramifications of that prophecy led to the destruction and devastation of Morrowind, and the pariahship of the Dunmeri people, who have historically been one of the Nord's enemies.

Fairly sure. I remember one or two of the videos we have said 2009 on it. They probably did all this around the same time.

And will there be another update update after that one?

They said there might be another one. Perhaps on next week monday since that is the last day of januari.

Regardless, the art in Skyrim is amazing, and it's nice to see the design of your executioner. He looks awesomely terrifying!

Af far as the look of the game goes, Bethesda's design tem has really nailed it down. This is more than what I pictured Skyrim to be, and the mood of the world---dark, gruesome, uncivilized---is breathing off of these art pieces.

As in... use your eyes. There are 2 on this page alone, but then there are the "dovahkiins" as well

Anyways look like the Argonians may be much the same as hey were in Oblivion besides the minor changes all races may recieve

Very awesome update, probably the best yet IMO.

Fairly sure. I remember one or two of the videos we have said 2009 on it. They probably did all this around the same time.

Only one video I know of said 2009 and that was the paint over, which was recorded by the artist, not GameInformer. The GameInformer interviews were most likely done AFTER the announcement, because they wouldn't have told GI about the game before then.

They'll still be doing Concept Art very close to the end. As long as they are still creating or tweaking objects in the game they will be working on concept art.

I saw it too, that guy looks badass to me. I wonder if we'll be able to give such hand signals in the game.

Has there actually been an update? Can't find anything new in the Skyrim Hub.

Edit: Found it.

Let's make some guess on the statues.

The one in the middle: Kyne, Widow of Shor

This one: Mara, perhaps? Or maybe a certain daedric prince?

Look at it this way. Only 288 days, 8 hours, 33 minutes.

It looks like it might say Mara on his screen.

 Don't worry guys, we'll be getting a nice UI update tomorrow, too.

Anyone notice how awesome each armor set looks? Seriously, it's as if they were reading my fricken mind. The Argonian art (2:17, pointed out by Drakewoodall) is exactly what I was hoping for with the race. I'm dying to see how they handle the Bretons, Nords, and Imperials.
