Game Informer, where are you! : V - Skyrim

It appears none of the Barnes and Nobles nor Borders in AZ carry the magazine anymore. I went into about 4 Barnes and Nobles in my area and 1 Borders and none of them even had the January Game informer. Not sure these stores carry it anymore.

Also went into a Gamestop and it was not there and the guy said he didnt know when they would get it.

I think Im going to stop checking and just check back in a couple of weeks.

Does Barnes and Noble carry occasional issues? Do some carry it and some not or what?

Well over here in sunny old England, we aren't getting anything on Skyrim until the March issue, and even then it's approximately only 2 pages. Think yourselves lucky.

i got it at my local EB Games in canada on the 14th (EBgames = Game stop)

Picked it up today at my local EB Games in Toronto.

My GameStop got it today and I'm just NW of Atlanta. They wanted me to spend 15$ on an Edge Discount Card (they don't buy and sell used PC games) and a 1 year subscription to GI (a console publication) both of which are completely worthless to me as a PC. I really want that mag but not that bad. I told them to shove it with walnuts and I'll wait for it to hit newsstands.

Well, I live in north Atlanta just outside the Perimeter and my local Gamestop doesn't have it yet.

I thought gamestop was the only place to get the magazine?

That is my impression. Barnes and Nobles doesn't have it, and I'm betting Borders doesn't either. Even if there are other locations that sell it, I wouldn't know where or what they are.

Most Gamestops and EB games in Ontario have them in now. I have mine..it came in on Friday.

The staff at Gamestop/EB are renowned for disorganization and not knowing what they're talking about. It wouldn't surprise me if they think they can't sell the magazine until february because it's the february issue. If you talk to a manager I'm sure you'll be able to buy the current issue.

Unless of course there's some sort of disaster in your area, in that case the shipping might have been delayed.

I got mine the 14th, the release day at EB Games (Canadian GameStop) :shrug:

Phoned in the morning while on a spare but they said they didn't have any, but when I stopped by around 3 they had just gotten the box. TBH.... Meh. There wasn't nearly as much content as what I thought there would be.

I'm going to go ahead and refute my previous post in this thread. I stopped by my local EB today to buy the magazine, but they didn't have them in. The girl working there even said that it was very unusual as they usually get the magazines in quite early.

No february issues in Vancouver yet either it seems.

None of you have ANY right to complain. Game Informer's Headquarters are located around Minneapolis/St. Paul, and I live 15 minutes away. Not only did I not receive my copy yet, but neither have any of the stores in my area.

Hey cool, im Gold Coast. i was going to go check today but couldnt get around to it. So you rekon there's none yet? Have you tried EB Games? Though if most of America doesnt have it yet then i doubt we will

It's not a console publication. It also covers PC games. 15 bucks for a years subscription is pretty cheap if you ask me...but you can keep thinking they're money grubbers I guess.

I live in Central Indiana, more or less, and was told Thursday that it wouldn't be in for a week. Clerk at the GameStop said he hadn't even gotten his subscription issue either. (OK, let's be clear on this. My HUSBAND was told this, however stores lie to him a lot. So there might have be 100 copies in the back room. :flamethrower: )

I believe our shipments are delayed. It's the newsagent here as my closest eb would be Rockhampton I'd imagine. I was told they expected it on the 14th but it wasn't in today so am going to try again on Wednesday. Fingers crossed the weather holds!

Welp, I just called again, and it's not in yet. But the guy said it SHOULD be in later today.

He also said that there's a chance of it not being in because of it being a holiday (MLK Jr. Day), but I'm pretty sure they still deliver on this holiday.

I have not been able to find it anywhere else either. I emailed GI support to ask if it is sold any place other than GameStop and they responded:

"Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for contacting GameStop.ca.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to purchase GI one issue at a time. You can only receive issues if a twelve or twenty-four month subscription is purchased. We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this may have caused."

Both the Jan and Feb issues came in the mail on same day for me (last Fri). Obviously GameInformer is having some kind of problem.

Got my issue on Saturday. Cool to see it with the all black cover (retail versions have the game name in the bottom right hand corner).
