My game keeps crashing after the Bethesda logos

Post » Thu Aug 08, 2013 9:24 pm

Its really weird, i played skyrim just fine this morning and now its crashing. idk if this caused it but after closing skyrim before this happened i put shadows to ultra. after the crashes i put it back to medium but still the crashes keep coming. Also its really hot in my room and im checking my Graphics card temps and it is at 61 degrees idle!

My graphics card is AMD READEON 7670.

Also my cpu temp is 51 degrees idle

is that the cause?

please help:)

Usually, this is a mod issue, but since you mentioned the temps....

The temps are probably too high for idle temps. Get a can of compressed air, take your PC outside (you will thank me later) and blow out the dust in the heat sinks and fans.

Yes, you need to clean it. Chronic overheating will kill your hardware.

After cleaning it, plug it back in and start it up with the cover off the case so you can look inside and confirm that all of the fans are spinning. If any fans don't spin they need to be replaced.

OK, i think this is worth the trouble.

Download that utility from here: http://www.ocbase.com/index.php/download

to stress your graphic card for errors.

[ OCCT is a stability Checking tool that includes CPU, GPU, and power supply tests. It aims at detecting hardware errors, generated by faulty hardware, badly thought overclocks, and so on.]

and read here too: http://www.ocbase.com/index.php/support (very useful info's about your hardware related to that tool)

Thanks for the suggestion, but it turned out that it was a mod that caused the crash even though i played with it on before. but thanks for this, i may need it the future:)
