Game no longer starts

Post » Tue Jan 12, 2016 8:03 pm

Hi,

Was really enjoying this game, but woke up this morning and the game just won't start. I did some searching, and found the advice to first restart the game, then to hard restart the xbox, which i have tried several times. I have the physical disc and I have tried cleaning it, didn't work. I have tested other disks in the drive and it can read them, so I don't think its a drive issue (xbox is brand new at xmas). So now I am completely stumped. Any help greatly appreciated.

For the record, I was also experiencing the corrupt saves bug, usually the last one saved, so I got in the habit of saving twice.

I suspect a major patch is required.

Thanks!

PP

UPDATE - spent an hour with xbox support, went through standard procedures all to no avail, and then he went and spoke to his people. He came back and said there were generalised problems that were being addressed by engineers, and should be resolved their end shortly - not sure what this means but fingers crossed.

I eventually had to go for the nuclear option and do a factory reset - the game seems to be installing now, we'll see if the cloud saves work ! Fingers crossed

Uninstalling for me just created the next problem - it wouldn't reinstall, so I had to go for the factory reset, which was also the advice of Microsoft support in the end. Its taking an age to reinstall everything so can't say if I've solved all the problems. I think Microsoft will have to produce a major update soon, they obviously have a lot of bugs to deal with. Even their support advises against using the "instant on" option for power. Why offer settings that create problems? They need to work fast and fix these issues, as we buy consoles to avoid all these glitches !

Did anyone get a resolution to this? I just started experiencing this issue today. I've tried the power cycle option but not had any joy and am keen to avoid the re-install as that doesn't seem to be fixing the issue either. Has anyone had an update from xbox support?

See post above - Microsoft support advised resetting to factory settings and reloading all games and apps and profiles - its a real pain but it worked for me.

If you factory reset does it delete your save files?

Thank you PaganPen. I wasn't sure whether the reset had actually worked for you. I was also secretly hoping it was just a temporary issue as the reset sounded incredibly painful.

Hi http://www.gamesas.com/user/1009288-durtahbid/

The xbox one should automatically save your game saves to the cloud as well as profiles, when you reset and reload, first time you run the game it should sync
