I'll mod out Todd's UAV when I can, till then I'll use the sun and landmarks with a map pulled up on the internet since Skyrim is steam integrated anyways.

This was mostly aimed at the super hardcoe immersion crowd, but here is the thing. I played Oblivion earlier today and for the first time, I didn't use quick travel. Instead, I walked from the Imperial Sewers all the way to Leyawiin only stopping randomly to places I never been before. I did the Goblin Quest today, but I never heard of it till today. To sum it up without going into details, quick travel and etc rob people of the full experience of the game.

I do admit, that it's upsetting you can't start goblin wars in the middle of towns, but that story is for a different time.

I will be. Unless there's no way I know that I might die, like something slowly draining my hp. I'm not sure the extent of the visual/sound queues.

I probably won't use the map either (wish they would have done a map like Far Cry 2, viewable in the player characters hand, but oh well), unless it's needed. If the compass can be used just for directions (every thing removed except N, S , E, W) then I'll just use that, and refer to the QL for general direction's. Hopefully it can be called on though. So it's not on the screen the whole time.

You'll need mods to turn off the compass and other assortments, the only thing in vanilla you can turn off are quest markers.

Link would be appreciated. I know about quest markers being togglable but what about others like 'undiscovered location' and the enemy locations? I really, REALLY want that nonsense gone. I'm on a console, so I can't simply mod it out. Some responses I've gotten were "oh don't worry you can turn the HUD off.. but that doesn't help me at all because I still want the compass, just without all the markers.

It's either all or nothing regarding the HUD. You'll have to deal with the "nonsense" unless you get a PC.
