Game music off or on?

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 10:24 am

Do you guys prefer game music off or on? I personally turned the crosshair and music off as soon as i had control of my character at helgen. I enjoy only hearing and seeing whats around me. especially while wearing turtle beaches. (:

I turn on the music from time to time. If im going on a long journey or something of the sort ill often turn it on. (I prefer not to fast travel. makes the game way more epic)

I was just wondering if anyone else played like this or how you guys like to play.

Off. Footstep volume turned up.
I love the atmosphere, have a VERY HIGH appreciation for footstep sounds, and Skyrim has some of the most amazing footstep sounds I've ever heard.

Thank you Bethesda. It's very personal how wonderful these footstep sounds are.

I turn the game music off when I'm listening iTunes, which is most of the time.

When I turn the game music off I also turn the voice, effects, footsteps, etc. up all the way.

I had it on until a point where I needed to listen carefully for a certain sound.

I leave it on. I love how it doesnt play all the time on its own so am able to enjoy excellent music aswell as the stunning Skyrim world sounds in a balanced manner. The Draugh Overlord i just fought sure does have a sinister echoing shout when listened to over my Koss UR40 or Audio Technica Ath AD700 headphones.

Music is very immersive and blends in perfectly with the environment. Sometimes am asking myself was that an environmental sound or the music?

And yes like NemesisLeon mentioned footsteps are wonderful and i always have them on full volume. Fallout 3 also has fantastic footsteps.

Off, i don't like to have an orchestra following me deep in the forest or high up in the monteins...never figured it out how they travel???

Jeremy and Julian Soule pulled out all the stops on this one... I absolutely love the in-game soundtrack.

For the immersion guys, don't you know how the orchestra follows you? There is a silent shout you have always known from birth. It is:

JER - MI - SOL

It passively summons an orchestra of manly nords and fetching lasses (or the reverse if you prefer) to bring epic music to you throughout Nirn.

Honestly I think it's a bit insulting to the composer to turn it off considering how beautiful some of the tracks are.

For some reason I hate the footwraps (and boots) footstep sound. It makes me fell like I'm wearing flip-flops.

Overall, all the sounds of the game are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G
