The moment I launch the loader for OBSE, the black loader window opens up and then the full black window for oblivion opens but before any content is rendered in them. IE the game opening movie, Oblivion closes. I know I'm above the minimum specs, and I don't get any crash windows. Ideas? Note: I'm running on windows 7 X64

Game installed to the Program files directory? That would be a problem, as the O/S interprets OBSE as a virus. You can either reinstall the game somewhere outside Program Files, or, Change permissions on the Oblivion folder, to disable UAC.

Is the game working normally without OBSE?

Check here and try the troubleshoots under crash at startup.


make sure your graphic drivers and direct X end user are both up to date.

I got it sorted once I checked through wrye bash. Showed one of my mods was missing it's master (it was an item interchange mod designed to be filtered in bash patch but it was still activated). My bad
