Game Over?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 1:37 am

Does anyone know if the game will be over once the main quest is finished, like in Fallout 3 (without Broken Steel), or will we be able to play even though it's done?

Permanent End:

WORST. IDEA. EVER.

And I think they realized that. otherwise they wouldn't have mad one of FO3's first DLCs fix their grievous error.

Already confirmed that we'll be able to continue after completing the main quest.

We will never have a permanent ending with an ES game... Ever.

Definitely not. It'd be contrary to the entire spirit of TES.

No I don't, and it's already been comfirmed you can play after the main quest.

Absolutely not.

One of the enduring features of TES games is a world existing independently of the player.

One does not simply "finish" Skyrim, Oblivion or Morrowind....

I believe they had that for FO3 and FO:NV (yes I know it wasn't made by Bethesda) because that is the way that Fallout games are; they have a permanent ending. And as for my opinion, I think it is ridiculous to have a permanent ending in an open world game like TES (or FO3, for that matter).

This, and this is also not Fallout, and this topic should not have a poll

I'm curious to know, those of you who voted "yes, we want it so we cannot continue playing once we finish the main quest", why you voted this way? I'm honestly curious! :)

My Boone like characters, who's lives have been nothing short of a living hell shouldn't be forced to continue on if I feel it would be within their character type to give their lives in a blaze of glory to save Nirn. Optional of course.

I voted yes, but that's because Bethesda already said they won't be doing it.

Why would I want it to end? Even after the main quest, there's still so much more to do.

Hey I almost voted "yes" thinking I was voting "no" because the normal order in a poll is : yes;no and here it was: no;yes

That's the only logical explanation I can find
