Basically there are some challenges, and the more you complete the more entries you get in the drawing, where you can win 5 games from your wish list. Some of them require that you own games and get an achievement or something liek that but right now there's one objective (out of 4) which only requires having an avatar. :)

And there's some other stuff you can win. Just have a look.

Oh you need minimum 10 games on your wishlist to be eligible at all for anything there. So get adding things to your wishlist at the very least.

Just watch, the person who wins will only have done the setting up of your avatar challenge or something.

Well, they will only be able to win today. The grand prize you need at least 10 challenges. Also, having 100 free games would be awesome, I'm not sure if I could even think of 50.

Aside from games and achievements I already have I won't be participating in this sale. I don't feel like spending money on the extremely slim chance that I win something.

Yeah me neither. It's a clever way to get people to buy 1-3 dollar games though. :P

I hope we're getting a proper christmas sale like last year too though.

The treasure hunt ends on the 19th, and the annual holiday wallet massacre usually starts just before Christmas and ends a few days after New Year's. So chances are this is just another warm-up pitch (like the Thanksgiving sale), and the Christmas sale should start up a couple of days after it ends.

I like this promotion. Chime looks really interesting, but I never would have known about it had it not been for this sale. I love Steam.

Not a whole lot of time left on this one, but if anyone doesn't have S.T.A.L.K.E.R: SoC yet, it's currently $0.99 on GfWL

Chime is awesome. very addicting and challenging, then again I was playing on the 3 minute mode (which I am assuming to be hard mode). Steam wants you to get so many points on Easy but not sure which that is.

Kotor $2.50

Damn it! I wish I would have caught KotOR. If anyone can find it cheap somewhere else, let me know!

Thanks for the heads up. That was a steal considering I've never played the game and wanted to. I just hate the hassle of creating an Xbox Live account I'm never going to use.

I think 9 minutes is the easy mode. I really like this game.

Yeah 9 minutes is the easy mode. I got over 3 million points on the first try. Fun game though I am really enjoying it, though I wish there wasmore songs to play through.

I just got an e-mail from the guys who organized that Humble Indie Bundle action a while ago, and if you bought it back then you'll now get a activation key for Steam! :)

One of the current qualifiers in Steam's contest at the moment is having 10 friends, and I don't have that many. Someone friend me on Steam (same username, Rhekarid), so that I can exploit our shallow friendship for personal materialistic gain.

I couldn't agree more.

Apparently Evil Genius is also on sale, any of you know if it is worth getting?

Hellz YEA! That game was amazing, and there are rumors a second one might come up someday after the rights were picked up by Rebellion. I think it has an unofficial patch, but don't quote me on that. If it does get it as the base game had some pretty annoying bugs (not game breaker, but annoying).

Evil Genius is among my favorite games. It plays like the old Bullfrog titles Dungeon Keeper and Theme Hospital, but instead you're a Bond villain constructing a secret lair (complete with giant laser.) Easy to get into but with quite a lot of depth - you can build very elegant base layouts once you get the hang of things, rife with traps and security measures, as you recruit an army of henchmen and plot evil (mis)deeds across the globe. :D

There is indeed a fan patch, and can be found http://www.strategyplanet.com/evilgenius/TheGame/mod_unofficialpatch.asp There's also the official patch (already installed on Steam, I believe) and the official bonus disk available for http://www.strategyplanet.com/evilgenius/downloads/patches.asp (which adds a new henchman, among other things.) The fan patch is certainly worth getting, as it adds back in missing content, along with some bug fixes and gameplay tweaks.
