So i've put in 30+ hours doing all the sidequests and exploring and JUST reached the strip. I have a save right outside lucky 38 because i remember reading something about it glitching your game so I did it just to be safe. Then I have a save inside lucky 38 after speaking with house.

Now if i use the save inside and try to LEAVE the casino the loading screen takes forever then goes black and game crashes. Of course my autosave is now corrupt but no biggie I have the two "safe" ones i mentioned.

Wrong, I load the one prior to entering Lucky 38 take 3 steps and the game freezes. Reload try again same result. So I clear system patch reload same result with this save. I reload a fourth time fast travel to the north freeside gate thinking I could run back in and get past this glitch. The fast travel works im outside but as soon as I try going IN to the strip my game wont load that section of it goes black and crashes

So I think I've narrowed it down to the section of the strip outside lucky 38 is corrupted on my game somehow and I will never ever be able to finish.

Any suggestions to fix this or if Bethesda has posted anything or anyone else experiencing this issue please help If not it looks like I will be exploring the rest of the wasteland for now until a patch =(

If you've installed the game to your HDD, try deleting and re-installing, sometimes works. If it isn't installed try installing it. Worth a try.

It wasn't installed I just installed it same [censored] happened...

Really svcks I wanted to progress the main story more and now I can't until a patch.. Exploring isn't too bad but gets boring after a while... I may go raid the Legion camp for [censored] n giggles.

Bumped

This may be a result of the "Debt Collector" quest. If you kill the target of that quest inside Vegas this will happen. A fix has been to travel to Crimson Caravan and buy/steal an Old Cowboy Hat from the merchant there. It you wear this hat when you enter the strip then the game shouldn't crash.

HOWEVER, you don't even need to do that, depending on when you did the "Debt Collector" quest. When I did that quest I knew of these issues, so I waited until I saw McCafferty in Freeside and killed him there. Not one freeze entering the strip, leaving casino's or any of that.
