Yea but for New Players its like Urgency do this NOW before realizing you are doing the MQ

I assume we Escape Prison and im like What do i do now.

Geez, exactly. I really don't know what people really want in a game. The MQ has to start somewhere and thankfully TES games do not make you do anything like several other games. We don't have to go to Riverwood if we don't want to, but to say something unintelligent like "another delivery to Jauffre thing" is :cryvaultboy:

I tried to ignore the main quest in OB but I got so annoyed with Oblivion Gates I'm like oh well lets just finish the game but I didn't know you couldn't beat the game or I would of just waited.

It seems like the golden claw quest is the next step in the main quest, finding the first dragon word. Then I'm guessing you go and see the greybeards and they explain the significance of the word and the dragon language in general? It's all coming together now

-he helped me escape from prison

third tree

-a dragon attacked helgen and destroyed it. hodvar and i escaped together. (picked)

fourth tree

-a dragon attacked helgen and destroyed it. hodvar and i escaped together.

-that dragon flew off this way you must have seen it. (picked)

Not very leaked now is it~ pretty sure it wouldnt be on gametrailers otherwise~

Apart from that, the main story has to start somewhere~ it doesnt really bother me much that it has the same kinda feel~ if anything its like a soft trademark of TES now~

Interesting but that doesn't prove it's where the game starts. Also, they've stated that the last blade is Esbern, not Hodvar.

One of the dialogue choices is that Hadvar helped him escape from prison. Of course nothing is certain but it definately seems that Helgen is the starting point

Considering he is the last Blade and the Blades are being hunted down, he probably covered up his name~ or Bethesda changed it temporarily~

it was either hodvar, hadvar, hadver or hodver that was written, not esbern.
maybe there's more than one person involved with your escape, a fellow inmate perhaps?

@Mithrys, most likely.
the developers said that the demo interviewers got to play with were from within the first 30 minutes of the game, it's stated a few times on multiple hands on interviews so i guess helgen is close to riverwood.
