Game still not using proper graphics card

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 11:44 pm

Sorry for the repost, but I have to. I cannot play, and I cannot get a refund, so I have to find out how to properly get it to run right. I have an AMD Radeon HD 7870, I meet all the requirements, everything should be good, but my pc is using the integrated intel 4k graphics card. Please help. I need this game in my life, I've waited so long by now that I need to play the game. I should be able to play on high with 1080p and get 60 frames in diamond city, but I can't run the game with the intel graphics

How do I disable the intel graphics?

You should be able to disable the intel graphics in either bios or device manager., device manager's safer.

R. click on my computer, select device manager and it should be under display, R. click and disable, on re boot it wont be there.

Sleep tight.

Good Morning,

Agree, if you don't know computers that well, the BIOS ain't your friend, more like the bad man trying to sell you candy...after the reboot, windows should find the new AMD card, install it's drivers and ask for reboot, let it, it actually believes it knows what it's doing. Then download latest catalist driver pack and install that on top of it ;)

In the Option part of the game when you start Fallout select windowed mode/borderless@whatever resolution you prefere if you get a black screen with mouse pointer. I've got an AMD as well and can only run the game that way, at least consistently wise. For the 60fps sure, in the dark while not moving, I get 60...have fun :)

I guess the Radeon must not be plugged in properly

when I disabled this, I got a blankscreen. I'm a cautious person, and so I just did a save before I did this. tomorrow when I get home I'll look at my cables later

If you have an integrated graphics card as well then you should have two display ports. One that is connected to the graphics card and the other that is connected to the motherboard. In order to use your graphics card you will want to make sure the monitor is plugged into a display port that is connected to the graphics card.

In the above image 8 is the display port for the internal graphics card, but 11, 12, and 13 are display ports for the graphics card.

With the latest AMD drivers, you should be able to go into the CCC and set the game to use your discreet (AMD 7870) graphics card exclusively for Fallout 4.
