game that has never worked uninterruptedly more than 30 mins

Post » Wed Nov 10, 2010 5:27 am

I have been searching a solution that let crysis2 work smoothly in the forums far away from my country for a whole week, tried all tools and patchs(include win7x64 D3D hotfix/lastest catalyist 11.4 driver of HD6970 ) i can down, but cryisis2 has never worked without a break more than 30 mins.

I hardly play MP,Just play single play in order to expect a magic graphic display, but it almost gave me a crash
,freeze or blue screen each 25 mins, for new launch of crysis2,I upgraded my graphic card and LCD screen,pre-order the game, now can I get a patch only for working smoothly whatever you put dx 11 ?

Blue screen is driver/hardware related problem, it's never software.

I had a problem with crashing, due to heat build up. I gave the guts of my PC a good clean, and it hasn't happened again. (yet)

Wow that svcks. I see too many HD Radeon users having problems with the game. I don't know why but it could be your drivers. I have a feeling Nvidia paid secretly to Crytek to make Radeons suffer. Yea i own a nvidia and sorry if i'm such a fanboy but i still think it's your drivers. I conspire too much :D

Blue Screen - Do you have artifacts as well? --> might look here.

BSOD's can be software problems. Drivers are software btw. :P

I meant software like Crysis 2 itself. I consider drivers hardware for some reason :)

Check your RAM:
Take one stick out and try the game again, if it works properly you have bad memory.

If it doesn't work still, take the remaining memory out and put the one you took out first in on its own and try that.

My bets are: 94% on bad Crysis 2 codding (memory leak, sound engine), 5% driver problem, 1% RAM.
I have same problem, but i have Creative sound card in my PC. So even **** Creative drivers could cause BSOD in my case. Every other game is OK.

gamer who is sufferring by crysis2 issue have startling similarities on the hardware configuration.

Right now i have Creative X-Fi Elite Pro (best feature balenced card Creative ever made ... ever, but it started new era of bad drivers) + Xonar STX (for music).
I will recive new sound card on monday, so i am pretty curious if it will fix the problem (Creative Titanium HD and Xonar ST).

Thanks for tip. There was new BIOS for my Asus Formula IV and it alowed me to stable OC even higher :-) (4,045 GHz).
I am just gona test Crysis 2 and see if anything changed.

Edit: well it didn't work - same BSOD anyway.

well...u need to be 100% sure about how stable ur OC is.
just run CRYSIS without OC for the test...

u see...i have BSOD too...with 99.9% confidence what my OC was stable. i have never exp problems with my OC before CRYSIS 2...and only after i see my problem was in it.
and, thank to gismogod, with new MSI BIOS i have stable it...u see CRYSIS 2 very, very sensitive to CPU OC.
and don't forget about RAM 2...

edit:
here's an example...
i have AMD Athlon II X4 640 OC from 3.0Ghz to 3.9Ghz.
i have set core voltage to 1.7 (default is 1.4) and it works flawless in every app or game, even in CRYSIS2...but if i set it to 1.75, that it was before new version of my m.b BIOS, i have BSOD in CRYSIS2.
so...if i set it to 1.75 it works in every application and game, flawlessly too...except CRYSIS2 - that's how it sensitive to cpu OC.

It seems you were right (damm :-) ... too much OC. No BSOD so far 4-->3,7GHz. Interesting is that any other game or benchmark doesn't cause BSOD.
