Game of the Year? Not so fast... : V

I've been looking at Spike's GOTY

It appears that many people are aware of the PS3 situation with Skyrim. It really is a shame. If the game was fully functional on all platforms, then Skyrim would hands down deserve the GOTY award for Skyrim. However...if it does win, then it supports a horrible industry standard that says "it's ok to release broken, unfinished, and unplayable" products to consumers. It's shameful. I want Skyrim to win, but only if it actually worked....which it doesn't

Or... We can just vote in the games that we liked the most like it was intended. We don't need to follow a agenda that for best or worst probably will not change a thing.

Also, it's not broken for me, I'm playing it right now, so... My GOTY.

If I could give a ]censored[ about self-advertising awards, I would vote for it. Wake me when there's a EuroVision Song Nobel Game of the Year Award, and they need another jury member.

GoTY means nothing.

Millions of companies/people can call something their "Game of the year".

UNTIL Game of the year is in a controlled event, where only one unified panel decides upon it officially with community votes/support, it will mean nothing.

For now, its just random companies/reviewers/players saying "Dude, X is TOTALLY Game of the Year!"

Voted UC3... Skyrim doesn't deserve to win, especially after trudging through the so called "PC version".

If they had the category... "Most Overhyped Game of the Year".

Woulda voted for Skyrim in a heartbeat...

Or "Biggest Letdown of the Year"...

In playing on PS3, and in almost one hundred hours game time I've had a couple if FPS stutters, and one freeze point (in Blackreach, came back later and it was fine).

It's definitely GOTY for me, no other game has had me coming back so consistently this year.

Thanks for the link Stellin23, my vote is in for Skyrim and Bethesda for studio of the year as well, they certainly deserve it. :celebration:

Definite GOTY, would be horribly disappointed if it didn't win because some whinners want to blame Beth for the PS3 problems when it's really Sony's fault to begin with.

Yep. Mine too. The only game I've played since it released. Nothing else this year came close to the joys of Skyrim.

That really wasn't necessary, and you are in the vocal minority, the silent majority have little to no issues with the PC version.

It's two fandoms against each other I suppose.
Having an RPG and an FPS fight each other is nonsense as neither can be proved to be better than the other, as the only connection between them is that they were released in 2011.
