Question, should I just dive in and watch Season 2 of GoT without having finished CoK? I've been watching episodes to coincide with where I am in the book, but honestly, Game of Thrones is really different from the book in Season 2, so I'm wondering, aside from following the basic plot of Clash of Kings, since it's so different should I just go ahead and finish Season 2 now?
Ehhh, 600s I think. 634, about to start a new Tyrion chapter. I only have 9&10 to watch, but I'm aware I'm ahead of the book, but given I noticed how mismatched or cut the book is in Season 2, I'm really not going to be too spoiled by much beyond major events.
Yeah, I've always found Dany, Tyrion, Ned, and Davos to have particularly interesting chapters. Jon comes and goes, Theon, Sansa, and Bran are not too interesting personally.
Oh no, I know half the characters aren't the image of their characters (IE Tywin isn't bald with a bushy moustache), but the show seems to be going in its own direction to the point where few scenes in the book are truely done in the show.
Last Sunday (Easter) I realized that Xfinity on demand was having a watchathon and that was the last day. I decided to watch the first episode of GoT to see what all the hype was about because I do not have HBO. 8 hours later I was watching the 7th episode, I am addicted. But, I like it so much that I am no longer going to watch anymore of the HBO series. Instead, I am going to start reading the books this coming weekend /tops.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':tops:' /> Now, I am a typical guy and I don't mind the occasional nudity and naughty scenes but MY GOD it got ridiculous. I assume that is just HBO and not the books..
That's fine, I am a big fan now either way. I am just curious how much of it is HBO appealing to the late night, soft core porm crowd and how much is actually in the books.
there's some six in the books, but it's definitely not as much as what is in the show. Most of the six is implied rather than outright, although there are quite a few "erotic novel" scenes.
It really depends on the moment. But there's a lot of boobage and such in the show. They apparently have time to cut out interesting parts of the book, but enough to film Theon thrusting a girl, in two seasons no less. If they focused on being true to the book as they do to the six scenes, it'd be much more complicated. I'm still pissed they renamed Theon's sister for the dumbest reason ever. They thought people'd confuse Asha with Osha....
Figured. I only watched it up to episode 7 but I pretty much assumed that HBO would have at least one scene in every episode, lol. I am really excited to read the books though. /twirl.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':twirl:' />
Some people have actually came up with this reason for renaming her, knowing George it could possibly happen:
Spoiler
There's a pretty popular theory from book readers that Septa Lemore is actually Ashara Dayne, and the show creators wanted to rename Asha for that reason. Asha and Ashara are pretty similar.
