Game too dark: Why no brightnessgamma options?

Post » Sun Dec 20, 2015 8:34 am

Hello!

Why is there no brightness/gamma options available for Fallout 4? The game is way too dark for me. Especially at night I can't see anything! Chaning the gamma/brightness of my monitor or in the graphic card menu isn't an option, as it's working with other games.

Please dear Bethesda consider to add brightness/gamma options to the game, so we can use settings appropriate for or PC/monitor (and don't have to deal with too dark or bright settings)! It would be a very welcomed addition.

Is there no brightness option in the in-game settings menu? Skyrim had one, could have sworn I saw it in this.

Actually there doesn't appear to be one, and various reports say the ini cannot be changed for it. Seems more than strange for a AAA game to not have this basic feature.

Yeah I was wondering since I went out of my way to install the darker nights mod.

Yeah, this is the 1st time I am reading a complaint about the game being too dark.

Most people complain that it is too bright. You should change the monitor settings by playing around with brightness and contrast.

http://www.displaycalibration.com/

Do the brightness and contrast calibration there. The game is fine on a monitor that is calibrated properly. It'll do you a favour having a properly calibrated monitor anyway.

Yeah, this is a strange complaint tbh. I was actually considering the darker nights mod as I was thinking nights were to light.

I had the darker nights on Skyrim and really enjoyed it more.

The default lighting is quite dark for me but I have my TV/Monitor setup correctly for my PC. The lighting this time around is awesome. What I find is the pipboy light is way to bright unless you change the pipboy color to some color I do not like. I might try adjusting the pipboy color to almost black, maybe I should set it to black.

Sadly there is not that much can be done to adjust the brightness in the game hopefully a mod will come along that will allow us to adjust the brightness in game. Gopher and MGE have made mods in the past that allowed to adjust the brightness, contrast and such within game. Likely will have to wait until the geck is out and possibly F4SE will be needed.
