Game volume too low

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 6:42 pm

My in game volume is really low, even when maxed out. I'm using headphones (Sennheiser hd449 to be specific). Generally this is a non issue, except in specific games (The witcher 3 and skyrim). With skyrim I was able to solve it by switching my sound to 5.1 with only "front left and right" and "surround speakers" enabled in Realtek audio manager. Unfrotunately this doesn't help in this case.

Have this problem as well in Skyrim. Solution for me is to activate 'Loudness Equalization' in Realtek HD Audio Manager, under the Sound Effects tab.

I only activate this for Skyrim and Fallout, since other sounds (Youtube etc.) will sound really weird with Loudness Equalization. But at least it's easy to turn on/off, and I only use it for those two games. Hope it helps :)

Thanks for the feedback. I have tried doing this, and whilst it does raise the overall volume, it decreases the audio quality. It's also a lot more disctracting in my experience as the sound slightly fluctuates to stay on the same level, and as though it's all coming from one spot (no distant/surround sound).
