I wanted to get some multiplayer in, but I was at version 1.0, so I went looking around, saw auto-updates, wasn't working so I manually installed patch 1.1. I'm still not getting any auto-updates so I can't get into any multiplayer games (my server list has two empty servers).

Is there any fix or somewhere I can download the patches to install them manually?

google is your friend. no need to apply them individually, just 1.9

Did you tried the launcher in the game folder?

Manually download the 1.9 patch, or try the launcher in the game folder...
