Gameboy Advance

I think the proper question is, who doesn't still HAVE their Gameboy?

If you got rid of yours, you betrayed it! After all those years together! How could you do that? :cold:

The reason I had to get another SP was because I snapped my old one in half years ago when I was playing Zelda Link to the Past I got stuck in a temple and got super pissed (a common occurance between me and Zelda games) so I snapped the folding screen off and tried to blame it on my dog...you can probably guess how much my parents believed me

Game stores in the US still sell Game Boys? Here you can barely buy PS2 games.

Here you can barely buy PC games since Game shut down leaving us with crappy expensive Gamestation.

I too, wish to fly the flag for Pokemon Blue, which is sitting inside my Blastoise carry case with my Gameboy Color.

Who would want to collect a handheld as primitive as a Gameboy?

There is a HUGE market for retro games for collecting, playing, trades, ect.

I have my purple transparent gbc and my transparent gba. i sold my sp to get a ds.

I also have the original 1989 brick Gameboy. It's been through a lot of abuse. Screen is a bit cracked, but it still works flawlessly. There's also that one in a US army museum or something that was scorched in a SCUD attack during the gulf war, and it still works!

I don't have a gb. I have a DSLite. I DO have a little stack of NES and SNES titles and I just paid for 4 more on Ebay.

I never did get into the Gameboy back when it came out.

The tiny screen that NEVER had enough lighting.

The motion blur on the screen from some of the games.

Constant changing of batteries.

Ugh

It wasn't until the SP came out, it was rechargeable, that I took an interest in them. But it wasn't until the DSLite came out that I actually bought a handheld console. Of course, I bought it with Pokemon Pearl.

I never would have guessed this. In all honesty, I thought the Gameboy died ten years ago.

Same here. I think my dad got that Gray Brick before I was born. :P

Mine was for my dad, but he didn't want it. Mom let me have it when I was 2 during a long flight from Chicago to Colorado. Kept me quite the whole trip. I blame them for making me the gamer I am today :P

I still have my gbc. Pokemon blue version ftw.

Pokemon Yellow and Gold here.

I still have the GBA and my GBA SP. Although my GBA is a wreck from all the years of use. Still works fine though.

Aww, my GBA was stolen several years ago. :(

I have two SP's though, so I'll just wait till that becomes a collectors item. :P

I still have mine, along with 2 SPs and a GB Color. I wonder how much a decent-condition Advance will go for in about 5 years?

This makes me sad that my brother lost my Gameboy Advance. <_< I miss it. Though honestly, I doubt the value of a GBA will go up because of this.

I do have two Gameboy Colors, though, a purple one and a green one! Because my mom made my brother give me his Gameboy Color when he lost my Advance... :P

 This thread.... Only way your GBA will go up in value if it was never removed from the box or possibly a limited edition.

Never in the thread did I say the value was going up, I was just stating what I saw so if you come into my thread without anything productive to say then please leave.

I wonder how valuable Game Boy Micros are going to be. I think they are already pretty rare as it is. I would love to own one just for the novelty of it.

I used to have one but I lost it :(.

I also used to have an original Gameboy but I lost it too :(.

I used to have an original gameboy as well some one broke into my house and stole it tho, along with my n64 ....

So just a few hours ago I went to my local Gamestop to buy a Gameboy Advance SP (the small one with the folding screen) and a flier I saw when I walked in said that as of April 3rd Gamestop (at least in the U.S.) will stop selling or buying Gameboy Advances and Gameboy advance games on account of the fact that they are becoming a collectors item. My question is why do they stop selling or buying them if they claim they are becoming collectors items? Isnt that more reason to have them?

Oh, and in case you're wondering I got the last SP at the Gamestop for $25 pretty good shape, now to dig out my bag of games.

Our gamestops here do not sell them anymore, either. My kids are always on the lookout for classic gameboy games, as well as N64.
We find them at flea markets, thrift stores, and garage sales. Honestly, my smartphone screen is bigger than the damn gameboy screen.
Good thing they both have great vision, I can't see the damn gameboy screen well enough to play, even with bifocals on.

The flea markets around here charge the same as any other store around here that just sells vintage video games the only difference being more people, loud annoying music, and beer...
I think one of the vendors wanted $50 for Legend of Mana that was in poor condition.
