Just some thing that makes me wonder: If one has played the game already are they allowed to talk about it? Or is there a NDA sort of thing?

Yes, but most previews are made by SD. There is not much actual footage from actual gamers.

previews by reporters are scattered everywhere, it's recording that they don't put up with.
so you'll only find vids from SD, but previews are of all reporters and are everywhere

Yes, that's what I wanted to explain, but I kind of failed.

I've played the 20+ mins hands on demo this weekend at PAX 2010. The game is amazing. There is alot of thought and effort put into the game and it was perfect. As far as a FSP goes.... Perfectly Balanced. It is quick to pick up and doesn't feel forced or constrictive in anyway. The S.M.A.R.T. system is fun and needed in this game. getting up to a high advantage point was great to do when there weren't stairs to get there. Crates, Barrels, and planks were good enough. The class Change system was straight forward and easy. And the objective selection was so quick it didn't hinder the game play at all. I waited for 2 and a half hours on saturday to play the demo. It was so much better than what I was expecting that Sunday morning I stood in line for an hour and a half to play it again. I played Security both times and loved it. BRINK is going to be HUGE!!!!! I'm not trying to over hype the game. I'm just glad to have a new breath of fresh air in the FSP genre.

Hey thanks for the intel. Sounds pretty damn good, is it as much fun as COD and some of the other top fps's?

Glad to hear it, wish I could have gone to PAX. Ah well, someday perhaps. I wonder how balancing and polishing for the game is coming along. Since typically(So I've heard) anything shown at convention or what have you is a few months behind what the current model is. Learned that from Valve when I was following Left4Dead. Of course I'm not saying that applies to all games but. I wonder how close they are to being out of Alpha.

I waited for 3 hours on friday. I have a different opinion of the game though. Maybe it was just the level, but there wasn't really any "zomg play totally different parkour action shooter!!!" most of it was just climb up stuff. The game moves at a slow pace(i dont think the body type could be changed so i think we were all mediums) so you can't do anything mirror's edge like. The soldier and operative seemed like dumb picks. Unless you need to hack something or your team needs ammo. The medic can revive people and yourself once, and the engineer can boost weapon power and drop turrets. The level we played seemed really confined which also contributed to the non-parkourness of the demo. You also have to use your ironsights, I was really hoping that this would be a more run-n-gun type of game but i guess i'll still have to wait for something to come along. Overall i just thought the game should be faster and more run-n-gun.

and no, changing to the light body type is not going to make a big difference, your still going to have to stop and aim at the person. Also the whole regenerative grenades is dumb.

Sorry to be so negative, but i was really hoping this game could be special but it isn't. At least this demo wasnt.

from what I've heard no video was allowed during the hands on in PAX, but there have been previews in written form. In fact just a few threads down are some previews http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1114774-pax-2010-hands-on-reviews/. From the reviews, its gonna fun.

Well thats the whole point of having secrets, so people wonder. They should talk because if they don't their first born child will die if they don't

you think like me lol.

There is damage control going on, they don't want people to see things, and most people just skim the articles.

I found this review which wasn't shown among the PAX articles (http://nerdiest-kids.com/pax-2010-coverage-brink/). It has pictures!

Also, the podcast said engies make your weps gold when they buff them, making them do 50% (maybe not 100% true) more damage. That means Medics overheal 50% hp. Only question is, "is that engie buff 1 or 2?"
