Gameplay Map Settings

Post » Sun Sep 21, 2014 3:34 am

I took a look at these and was wondering if there was reading material on these....id like to find out if its possible whenever you discover a location its a black icon on the map and compass till you enter the location....

edit- what i mean is when you hear a rumor your map gets updated and the icon is black till entered or come within close distance.....on the compass all undiscovered icons are black....

what i want to do is make so the player can look at the icon and if its black he/she knows if the location has been entered or cleared.....

i dont know how many times ive just casually walked by a location and then the discovered message pops up and eventually i forget bout it.

I'm not sure that I clearly understand but, each map marker has a "radius"; maybe setting this radius to 0 or to a low number, 256, 512, would do the trick?

heres a setting i found in gameplay settting:

imapMarkerRevealDistance 1000

by lowering the value does that mean youd have to be almost on top of it?

theres other map settings but i cant find no literature on what they mean and do.

Open the map marker's reference window. One of the tabs shows the map marker data.

Map markers are objects (markers) placed in the world. If you navigate to one of these markers in the render window you can double click it to open the properties, then go to the "Marker Data" tab to customize its settings: http://www.creationkit.com/Map_Marker

There is a large yellow circle around it, this is the 'radius' and the area the player must enter to discover the map marker. I'm unaware of any global settings to adjust this, as each and every map marker is individually set.

This has been asked before and I believe the answer we always come up with is "You have to do them all by hand"

It's made a bit easier if you right click 'mapmarker' in the object window and select "Use Data". This way you can at least skip directly to each map marker in the game to edit them. Yes, you still have to edit like 300 of them by hand, but at least you wont have to search for them.

OMG! You know i downloaded a journal mod where you can write in and what not...i just started and the map aint that discovered yet so i might just write the locations i accidently found and erase them when i explore them...this journal mod is most excellent:
