No gameplay in E3.

Post » Sun Oct 03, 2010 6:03 pm

Well This thread is here mainley to disscuss about that the puplic wont see gmeplay of skyrim at E3. You can post why/ think Beth wont put gameplay and what do you think.

Also If there is a thread like this then sorry.

This is a common misconception. Pete said that there will probably be gameplay released, the actual booth just won't be open, but most of its content will still be put out.

Wow, I hate when people make a topic about something and just say "DISCUSS!". Where is your opinion? Nowhere to be found. I can tell you care a lot.

Hopefully we get to see something, but as for the Guilds/Factions we'll probably only hear about that aspect.

Well I was going to wait for a bit to tell my opinion but here it is" Although im a bit dissapointed that there will be no gameplay. Still im sure beth had a good reason. Also atleast those "DISSCUSSED" topics are better than some of these suggestions in the forums.

Personally I don't care much about what they do or do not release at E3. Mostly what's going to happen there is journos will show up for their appointments so they can ask if the game has dragons, can the hero ride dragons, can the hero become a dragon, and other such inconsequential BS.

What I expect is that they probably know E3 will be useless due to the journo's focus on the mainstream, non-TES fan, so they plan to release their own new stuff directly on their website. I'm hoping to see a video (possibly 20 mins) showing gameplay with minimal comment, hopefully including the following elements:

1) Getting the quest in town/interacting with NPCs
2) Purchasing a weapon or piece of armor and equipping it
3) Travelling through a bit of wilderness to a short cave/dungeon/tomb
4) Entering and kicking some [censored], and finding some treasure
5) Leaving the cave and getting attacked by the dragon who's been waiting for you since he saw you go in
6) Levelling up and looking at their attributes and skills

If they even manage 1-4 that would answer 90% of my basic questions about the game.

5 is so they can throw a bone to all the dragon-obsessed journos who couldn't come to E3.

Even thought I'm crazy to see new gameplay I'll come to terms with no gameplay being released at E3. However, I would like to hear some answers to our vital questions which you can find all over the forums...ex What will the factions be? How will alchemy in Skyrim be different from that in Oblivion? Are there or are there not finishing moves? etc etc.

Thanks for telling me cos I read in a norwegian article that there aren't finishing moves.

Here is the article I am talking about: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1185722-part-01-todd-howard-interiew/page__hl__norwegian I realise that there may be some confusion due to mistakes whilst translating.

No problem. The latest batch of previews last month from the Park City, Utah demo mentioned the finishing move they saw.

maybe they are pulling a Blizzard and waiting to show the meat&potatoes at Quakecon?

Doom4 and Skyrim could give massive draw to the growing convention.

That's what i'm thinking. Quakecon will be the big one. It will be only 3 months from release and journalists will probably go hands on for the first time.

I'm still expecting Todd to walk up on stage during the Microsoft press conference and show us a brief gameplay demo. I'll keep expecting it, too, no matter what they say. :lol

It is so the press can release stories and get paid (E3 is primarily a press event, PAX is public). I'm sure footage will be released shortly after, more importantly we will have an abundance of stories relating to the game so it is something to look forward to regardless.

Game is gonna disappoint me because of my unrealistic expectations, ahhh well.

Any word on Skyrim being at PAX yet? Is that before, or after, Quakecon?

@Ajwol PAX was at the end of February.

We've had an abundance of stories for 6 months now. Many online articles, magazine previews, numerous tweets, hype from the Bethblog. It's time to see gameplay. The time for talking is over.

We'll see gameplay, dont worry. It just wont come from random people, it will be released through official medium like gametrailers.

I guarantee that whatever Bethesda shows at E3 will be all over the TV/Internet the same day. G4TV and GameTrailers will show everything big that goes down. A lot of times people who have invites to these "closed" events put up live streams. There will be some sort of gameplay vid at E3. You can count on it.

You can be sure Bethesda will have some sort of gameplay especially this close to release. It's not like Bethesda is some shadow government hiding the existence of alien technology or something. It's a video game for christ sakes.
