No gameplay in E3.

Well, now I feel foolish :sadvaultboy:

No need to feel foolish. That was PAX East. http://prime.paxsite.com/. It is indeed after Quakecon and may be a chance for the public (myself included :) ) to go hands-on. Bethesda have been there every year since I went, I'm just assuming they'll be there this year.

AH! I knew there was a PAX event later this year, just could not remember which one! Thought it was PAX EAST that took place later in the year though, oh well. Here's to hoping for a summer full of gradual Skyrim reveals.

Pete confirmed they will never have a public demo for Skyrim.

You're going to be disappointed. Sorry.

We'll see. I haven't seen anyone at Beth outright denying it. They'd be idiots not to have anything shown at E3, and they know it. They're just playing their cards close to the chest for now.

Having something at E3 and doing a live on stage presentation are two totally different things. Pete actually did confirm they won't be on stage when he explained why their booth is closed off.

Source? With "Having something at E3" I mean "Something the masses will get to see", which is only logical at an event like that. The only game I can remember not having a public demo at E3 was Halo 3 a while ago, and even that game had a trailer shown.

Do you realize that Bethesda's booth is always closed off at E3? This isn't something new.

Most booths are, if I recall correctly. At least in this "new", more press-oriented E3 we've been seeing the last few years. It's not because they won't be on a stage that we won't be getting to see something.

"It's impossible to properly show our game to 40-50k people. We try to focus our efforts".

I'm not saying they won't release something to the public, but they will not be live, on stage, at Microsoft or Sony or Nintendo's press briefing. If anything, expect Activision to be on stage with Modern Warfare 3 for Microsoft.

Skyrim coverage around E3. Yes. Live on stage demo. No.

They've said we'd be shown mammoths, more about guilds and such around E3 or something...?
So I don't think we have to worry. I think we'll see new gameplay pretty soon :)

Activision is a given, but they won't be the only ones. If they're not doing an on-stage demo, we'll probably be getting looks through G4, IGN or Gamespot.

Todd said they'll be showing more dragons as well. I'm not expecting a massive amount of new info around E3, but I'm still fairly excited :-)

IGN and the like will have interviews with Pete and Todd. Any gameplay shown will be through the Bethblog and/or official site.

@Luke I think you're misunderstanding me. I'm not saying we'll get no new info. I'm saying they won't be live on stage at anyones presser. I think you'll agree with that.

Ah, I was hoping this wasn't the case as last PAX they had FO:NV on playable demo units. In any rate, even if there is a presentation, I will be there with bells on. Possibly literally.

Pete never said no public demo. He's talking about not being a playable demo that you can download.

Yeah, I think there's some confusion here as to what we're talking about. Some people seem to be talking about a playable demo, and others about a public live demo (like myself). There definitely won't be a playable demo, of that I'm sure.

Ahh, I see. Speaking of demos, was there ever an Oblivion or Fallout 3 public demo?

@Blue Ninja Both me and Luke are saying they won't be showing a live demo at anyones press conference. I know you're not talking about a public playable demo.

Looks like they can show their game to over 50k. LOL

I have no problem with how they release info about their game, they want as much hype as possible to help drum up sales. Only showing certain footage to journos, makes them feel special and makes for better stories and reactions when they get down to writing their article. And lets not forget, most of the people responding in the Skyrim forum, are 1) very well informed about the game compared to everyone not working on it(including journos) and 2) have already decided to buy the game. They are currently looking to impress someone other than us. They already have most of us by the pubic hairs. Also its obvious that they listen to us here in the forum. So I cant complain to much.(but i will anyway... MU HU HAHAHAHAHA)

I WANT GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE!!!!!! please? lol
