Gameplay Trailer on the Playstation Store/Xbox Live store

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 9:13 pm

I'm not quite sure of how it works with 360s or if Xbox Live already has the video available for download or not, but I assume it works similarly to Playstation Store video downloads. On the Playstation Store, there are plenty of game trailers available for free download that are available in HD resolutions (1080p or, more commonly, 720p) and the laptop my family uses is just too small and with too low of a volume for me to fully enjoy blasting the Skyrim trailer loud enough to annoy the neighbors (:P) and get a really detailed look at the gameplay footage. I would love to have the trailer available for download on the Playstation Store and for Xbox Live, as well. In desperation, I tried downloading it directly from the Elder Scrolls website onto my PS3, but, unsurprisingly, it didn't work. Watching it on Youtube through my PS3 just yields a painfully low resolution video and I was wondering if there was any news as to whether the HD gameplay trailer would be available for console downloading.

Yeah, it's on my xbox.

Oh. Well, I've been checking for it everyday on the PS store since the trailer was first revealed and there's still nothing.

Yeah, I figured xbox would probably get it first, they usually do get Bethesda's stuff first, ya know? I'm sure it won't be too long... hopefully. It looks really good in HD.

Yes, you can get it on the Xbox Live Marketplace. I don't think it'll be long for the PS3 version to be out. (That's just mean! :verymad: )

Do you think Gstaff or Nick might be able to tell me what's going on if I contact them?

I doubt it, but it's worth a shot.

I wouldn't mind having it on my ps3 myself. I've watched it a million times on my PC, but nothing beats an HDTV.

download the trailer to your laptop then get Xvid4PSP (http://www.videohelp.com/tools/XviD4PSP) and convert it to MP4 using the 360/PS3 preset and then copy it to your PS3 :)

I think it's probably more than likely up to Sony rather than Bethesda. Who knows though, I guess it's worth a try. Good luck, buddy.

Got home last night for spring break and watched the trailer off of xbox live. Graphically it did looker on my hdtv but what I really noticed the most was the music/sound effects sounding waaay more detailed through the surround sound.

I downloaded the HD version off the web and then took it over to my PS3 via flash, I've got the media streaming set-up but it's a bit tempermental about some file types.

Just use a widescreen monitor for you console and for your PC, HD everything, problem solved.

Yea me too but for some reason they released it on LIVE but it hasn't made it's way to the PSN.

Hey can you get into elderscrolls.com with the PS3 web browser? Every time I go to the site it asks me to select my language but when I click English nothing happens?

The same language problem happens for me, as well. I just clicked French, instead, since the other languages work and French would be my second best language from that list. However, it doesn't seem possible to download the trailer from the site, regardless.

Didn't read much of the thread to know if it released or someone gave the answer. It's not really favoritism. The XLM and PSN do their weeks overall updates on different days and go on different schedules in terms of putting things in the marketplace. Note everything also has to go through a (in this case likely brief) review process through Sony/Microsoft and then they push the content to their servers. If not there should be soon enough. Probably on Sony. I remember a similar incident where the first RDR dlc showed for Xbox 360 first and PS3 owners got angry because they assumed it was on Rockstar, when it was Sony's delay. Not that it can't be the other way around just shows patience is a virtue and not to make auto-assumptions. Anyways hope its up for you.

The other languages work for me too. It loads the site for me, but it doesn't load everything and some parts I can't access it seems.

I downloaded it in HD from the website and put it on my PS3 with an USB stick. Works fine here.

Can't you just download the trailer in HD, put it on a USB memory stick and play it on your PS3 that way?

That's what I did on the Xbox 360 until the trailer was available on Xbox live.

Have you tried copying the file off your computer? The PS3 has USB ports, you know.

I don't know why you would want to buy it off the PSN or Live when you could just use the computer. Thankfully I can remember the whole Trailer song so it's not a big deal to me.

You don't buy it, it's free.

Plus I'd rather watch it on my 50" plasma telly with decent loud sound.

Dayum people, it's a trailer not a tv series.

You don't need to become um, obsessed and all. One viewing of the trailer (okay a couple) should be enough. :/

Game videos are free on the PSN/Live.
