Gamereactor, Nordic Magazine, Arrived

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 7:18 am

How is this not the most talked about topic now? One week ago the forums were clamoring on account of the translation that magic creation might be out. Now we have confirmation that the magic system will allow 'advanced combinations' .I must say I'm surprised this isn't a popular topic.

Yeah that' is an interesting one. Out of all the changes the perks system worries me the most. At least is sounds like they are trying to be creative with it. Everyone is to busy [censored]ing about graphics in a single pic. It's A fir tree! it's not gonna be smooth!

If the screen is the same as in the German mag, just look at this promotion video for the German mag:

http://www.computerbild.de/videos/Video-CBS-Ausgabe-03-2011-Test-Michael-Jackson-The-Experience-5943802.html

You can see the screenshot in question in the background at 0:23 s.

yeah, that's the one. Much darker in the Norwegian mag though -- which was actually cooler. Conveys the atmosphere in Skyrim better than those light office building pages in the German one :P

Thanks for posting that. I like the version in Nordic magazine better; it has a better atmosphere to it.

It is interesting to see how each of the magazines treat their images. I noticed that in some, the images are brighter, and in others they are darker. The lighting really affects the atmosphere of the pictures. Unfortunately, for me, the real images (released so far) have been brighter than I would have liked.

This is the best screengrab of the shot I could get:

There's so many details lost in the low res blurry video screengrab though!

I have an idea of how that is going to look and am now wanting an emoticon with a raging boner.

EDIT: Keep an eye on this space http://www.gamereactor.se/tidningen/pdf/ should be available for download soon.

Until then, here is my pull from the video, not much better. http://i.imgur.com/i79Su.jpg (not better at all, but looking at the non-blownup version is pretty nice.) Most important thing to take away from this is that it looks like there is AO, it's just very subtle, I'm sure you can crank it up if you want to.

Just so people aren't clicking on this link and getting super frustrated, the magazine should be posted at that link shortly.

The online-pdf for the Gamereactor issue nr 82 (the one with Skyrim in it) won't be released for a couple of weeks. That was Bethesda's orders.
I wonder why...

I think that they ordered Gamereactor that because we're about to see something special in a couple of weeks :)
Just a theory though.

Only the lake one is new.

Where did you see that it was their order? From reading the text on one of the other gamereactor sites, they said they post the PDF when the next PDF comes out. However, I did notice that the current magazine that is available (#81), was there for a long while before #82 came out. I also saw something soemwhere that said they don't publish a January and June or Jully issue, so maybe that is why. Maybe they just wait one month.

It's not that one. The one in Gamereactor is the same as the one in the Spanish magazine, I think. It's the same ruin, but it's shot from below, so you see the belly and throat of the dragon. But in GR we've got the whole photo -- in the Spanish one it's only the cut out dragon and parts of the ruin.
