What do you doubt about them?

That their wings could carry them :P but it's not annoying me too much -- Bethesda's people have been working for over two years on the dragons' looks, animations, etc... I doubt they'll look unbelievable in the game. :) Oh, and I'm a bit disappointed about the apparent lack of transport opportunities.

@St Frantic --- No problem :) I'm very pleased with most of the info we've gotten so far too. Can't show you the pic here, but you'll probably find it on the TES Nexus or something.
edit: and yay Metallica! :D

Where did you get that info, please? :glare:

It's just something Pete Hines tweeted that doesn't exactly rule out alternatives to "instant teleport" fast travel, but doesn't bode well for it either... I'll try to use my newly learned twitter skills to find a link for you ;)

oh hey, forgot about http://twitter.com/#!/DCDeacon/status/27830032655187969 where he says they're not talking about fast travel yet.... which is much better to hear than what he said in the tweet I was talking about --- which was something along the lines of "No-one ever said fast travel was mandatory. If you don't like it, don't use it" edit: actually,http://twitter.com/#!/DCDeacon/status/23730564544598016, and he's only responding to a question about whether fast travel would be optional - not if there would be alternatives! I'm happier now :)

but let's discuss that in another thread. The Norwegian magazine article says nothing about fast travel, so neither should we here. :)

I like the sound of the guy who wants revenge cause you killed his relatives. I just hope this will be a radiant ai+story driven thing that may occur virtually in any family and not just a part of a specific quest.

Okay, the new screenshot looks amazing. And thanks for posting all the new info Cratesmasher!

... you can for instance use a one-handed weapon in both hands to increase damage...

Am I reading that right? Any one-hander can be switched to both hands (if nothing is equipped in the other, obviously) and used two-handed? I was going to mention a feature like this in one of the related threads a while back, but it seemed like too much to hope for. If the article's accurate, this is fantastic news.

It should be. Might not have come to stores yet though. I've been asking at the local Spaceworld store every day ('cept Sunday) since friday now -- you should ask in your store when it's coming too ;)

No-one's really talking about consoles :) Let's keep it that way

@Dragonborn1 --- they don't seem proportionate to the body, that's all.

@Fearless Hero --- that's what it sounds like. Opens up whole new possibilities for spellswords and the like :)

@Stockport baby --- it's mentioned while talking about Radiant Story, specifically in a scenario where a random dude's killed and his brother might do so and so... so it's definitely not just a quest. (But it does sound like the writer of the article might be speculating a bit... there's a question mark after "bring his other brothers to come find you")

Edit: BTW, since it seems to have caused so much confusion, I've drawn a really rough sketch of the new pic so you can all see it's not the one from GI. http://img39.imageshack.us/img39/8161/dsc00724qo.jpg ! ;)

I'm really worried about the graphics of the game after looking at that screenshot!

:P Thanks for the info! :)

I don't think they meant it that way.

No, they are simply saying that you can use two one handed weapons to increase your damage output.

I don't think they meant it that way.

Well, obviously not daggers, but I think they actually mean that you can opt to use both your hands on your katana, for instance, for a while to deal some extra damage. Change to one-handed, use spell, change back to two-handed, etc.... sounds cool..... and maybe there's different coups de grace for one-handed and two-handed?

No, Silverglade, that's not the case. Here's the original text:
"Man kan for eksempel bruke et etth?ndssverd i to hender for ? ?ke skademengden"
One can for example use a one-handed sword in two hands to increase damage amount.
You can use a one-handed sword in two hands to increase damage. No way to twist it to make it otherwise :)

This.

No no no. Can't you guys just listen to the guy who's actually read the magazine? :P ME !
If you're worried I've gotten something wrong in translation, I can assure you that that's not the case. I'm a native speaker of Norwegian and English is my second first language, so to speak. I've been doing English literature at high school for two years now -- I know the meaning of those words ;)

I've seen a low quality scan of this image with the river with small islands in it, and mountains in the background. I think it looks like concept art, but that may be due to the low quality. I hope I'm wrong, as it looks pretty impressive!

Oh no I don't doubt you at all. I doubt the actual source of the information. The international coverage has been iffy at best and it seems like a lot of convoluted info has been spreading since the international coverage started.

It's not concept art. I've got the magazine right here in my lap, and I can tell you that's definitely computer rendered landscape. It's the same fog we've seen in other screenshots, it's got that funny-looking grass from Oblivion that looks like a 14-year-old's facial hair glued on the ground (poorly phrased, perhaps :P), the rocks in the bottom left of the shot reflect light the same way as the rocks inside that cave with the zombie-nords. It's a screenshot :)

@Dragonborn1 --- yeah, it might be that they got it wrong. But still, it's so clearly phrased and specific that I think it must be from Todd's very mouth. They might have misinterpreted him or just imagined they heard it or something... but it's what we have, so I propose we believe it and hope it's in :)

We aren't saying your translation is wrong, just your interpretation of it. :)

But, since you did bring up translation, there are a few things your might want to change. The word 'roofs' should be changed to 'ceilings'.

And this sentence:

[Skyrim] is markedly different from competing games, where we get to see neon-sparkling armours and swords that could be mistaken for jewelry.

Would be better worded:

[Skyrim] is markedly different from competing games that tend to have neon-sparkling armours and swords that could be mistaken for jewelry.

You're right about the ceilings. The other one's that way because I tried to keep it as close as possible to the Norwegian text. :)

edit: But I think you're wrong about the interpretation. I don't see how that sentence can be interpreted any way but "You can use one-handed swords in both hands if you wish".... there's simply no other way!

edit: Well, valid way -- you can interpret it any way you want, but any way but this one is clearly wrong ;)

It's not a writing competition, guys...

Cratesmasher's clearly correct; either Gamereactor have it completely wrong, or the feature is in the game. The words themselves are quite clear.

I think we are saying the same thing. That being:

* You can pickup a one handed weapon with either hand.
* You can have one only in your left hand.
* You can have one only in your right hand.
* You can have one in the left hand and one in the right hand, at the same time.

What I don't interpret it to say is that you can pickup a single one handed weapon and hold the hilt with both the left and right hand, at the same time. Otherwsie, that would be a considered a two-handed weapon.

I'm a little bit concerned that the Radiant Story is going to be the new level scaling. As in i sometimes want an easy dungeon not always a grind fest.
