Gamereactor shows 6 screens

That if it uses DX11. If the game uses DX10, then parallax occlusion mapping.

And since we don't get either, normal maps it is.

Oblivion had parallax mapping. On some dungeon textures. Hehe :P

Don't see any reason why they wouldn't render it for all textures. Makes it a whole lot better-lookinng ^^, rather than just being this mesh with a flat texture.

I assume you mean the dragon o the pillar with the mountains/forest in the backround, in was in GI but had all this none sense framing the pic, thus obscuring the best part, the mountains with forests. This is the closest I think any thing has come to being a new pic.

No, that wasn't it. Also, my mistake, it was the German magazine. Here is the post about it. They did this since they aren't allowed to scan it.

Well I think the water looks a bit unnatural concerning lighting and reflections, and its "shallowness". It should be a lot more shallow-looking near the shores.

This is true; overall I think it's fantastic though. But I'm also picturing what it might look like in motion, which may be the difference.

Well it seems both the German and Dutch magazines each have an unique screenshot. :D

Uh, yeah, that's too what normal maps are used for. Silly me. But you could have said that it's the weapon of choice for DX9 then. ^_^

Not bad graphics for what we can assume is the console version. The models and some of the textures are leagues better than Oblivion or Fallout 3. The lighting and shadows are much better as well, but I'm still not seeing that much in the field of soft shadowing as the shadows still look quite dark and hard.

I just hope the PC version will look better than this on the highest settings. For a console game, it looks amazing. For a PC game, it looks rather old.

But all in all, not bad.

Really? Could have fooled me.

I hate being pessimistic but...

On http://www.gamereactor.se/media/59/elderscrolls5_235967b.jpg, is it just me or does the water look ... unnatural and flat? Also looks like there's zero anti-aliasing (could be because of it being on consoles...?), some plants being very low-res, and grass doesn't seem to blend too well with the enironment. On a good side, the waterfall and the rocks with moss and roots on them looks very nice.

And on http://www.gamereactor.se/media/59/elderscrolls5_235970b.jpg, do someone else than me think that the stone-floor at the bottom looks very very flat? Otherwise the interior pic looks great.

Hasn't it been clarified that all screens are from the xbox version? Didn't OXM say that? Otherwise I'm 100% sure that all screens are from the xbox versions as the pictures are rather low quality hi-res (as someone mentioned).

WOW! A female not having big boobs in a video game! Good job.

Also, very decent face.

I believe the pictures do not have AA on (at least not 8x on), which would make them look much more smoother.

I don't know too much about the technology itself, just that it can be used to bring some really nice depth to textures. Much much better than any normal map could do.
Not sure how well it works on a full-scale with DX 9. Probably not too well, would be my guess.

Well, yes. I hope you're right that the PC will do this better. Both in term of "depth" of textures, anti-aliasing and more hi-res textures.

the third one, waterfall, looks very similiar to oblivions graphics tbh, but still looks good. :)

Well it looks similar to Oblivion's graphics on highest settings for the PC. These screens are actually 360 screens and todd has confirmed that Skyrim will ship with high resolution textures for PC.

Looks great! If those are for the console versions then i`m stoked..considering the 360 is getting on a bit now, i`ll be very pleased with my CE on 360 :)

They are definitely better than Oblivion on highest settings despite what some people say

In the one with all the NPCs in it, did anyone else notice the elf on the left? Wood elf or High elf?

You mean the NPC all the way to the left that is sitting on a stool that you can only see part of? You can't tell what race that character is... As for the guy to the right of him, that's a redguard.

That's the console versions for ya. The most AA console versions seem to have for some games is 2x AA, which usually isn't enough on its own to get rid of "jaggies."

But it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Skyrim doesn't have any AA on the console versions.

Can't wait to put in some 16xQ AA in Skyrim. Or maybe even some 32x AA.

Oh fair enough, if there not high resolution then the pc version will look amazing! :goodjob:

So will this support DX11?

In the 3th image, look like not to have reflects on the water...

But i think that details like that will be implemented when the game be close to the launch...

Hey, I had never seen this screenshot before: http://www.gamereactor.se/media/59/elderscrolls5_235970b.jpg

I love the clothings of the characters. And, wow, she looks like a normal human being. I don't want everyone to be pretty in a convincing rpg, but the facial model of the npcs in Oblivion were the stuff of nightmares.

On the other hand, I'm not impressed by the general graphic look of this game. It looks merely like an improvement since Fallout 3, but nowhere near a jawdropping material. But what I want to see is the animations. If the animations are good, these graphics are ok. But if the animations are as wooden as clunky as they were in Fallout 3 and Oblivion, then I'll be very disappointed.

I don't think anything has been confirmed, but all of the images are 1280x720 (one is 716). Therefore, I think it is safe to assume they are from a console, but I don't know that Bethesda has ever come out and declared the source of all the images yet.

While I believe consoles are holding advancement back as much as the next guy, it's important to note that the 360 is not only capable of 4xAA, but has a specialized chip for it making it almost free.

edit: And yes, the low resolution pretty much confirms these as console screenshots, even without Word Of God to back it up.

To be honest the game looks amazing :) it obviously has some lowish textures there but tbh its been frozen for the screenshot, in motion this won't be noticable tbh. As well as this is most probably a beta image or something considering we have many months to go and them saying they have a lot to do, I think it will look for sure much much better on PC but at the moment the console versions will look better then in those screens.
