Gamers Block

Post » Mon Jan 06, 2014 12:44 pm

Do you ever feel like you can't figure out what to play? Every time you enter a game, you just can't get motivated to keep playing? I've never really had this problem before, but now I can't seem to find the want to play anything, at all. I tried playing 4 different games just a bit ago, and I couldn't get into any of them, and they are games I've always enjoyed before.

Have you ever experienced gamers block? Did you get past it, or just wait for it to wear off? Its really bugging me. I have all the time in the world right now, and no motivation to play anything.

I usually just wait a few days and watch some videos on different games then get inspired to play again

That happens to me pretty often. I just do something else until I'm in the mood to play games.

It happens to me. I just do other things non-game related and wait for the urge to hit me again.

I just switch genre's. Whenever I don't feel like using my brain extensively in something like CKII, I'll go play some rounds of CSS or Chivalry. I've seen lots of people say they only play RPG's here, and I dunno how they can only play one genre (more power to them if they enjoy it though; I'm not saying it's bad).

That's not a bad idea. I've been playing FPS's all day. Maybe I'll try a few Isaac runs. If that doesn't give me the urge to play more, I'll just wait. Its a bummer just waiting around for the urge though.

When this happens, and it happens often for me, I switch to other hobbies. Reading, outdoorsy stuff (like hiking, surfing, diving, etc etc), watching Anime/tv shows and drinking with friends.

I hate being bored so I make it a point to never be bored. Thus I have multiple hobbies to fall back on in case one of the others fails me.

Yes i know the feeling. Got a pretty bad one when i last stopped playing New Vegas. I installed and modded Skyrim, but i took a few swings at the first at the first wolf down the road said "Eww. No." and uninstalled :hehe:

Didn't get any serious gaming done in a while, then started replaying Mass Effect trilogy, and am still doing that. At ME3 now, decided to get the two story DLCs i was missing for it too while i was at it. Loved Citadel, haven't laughed like that in a long time :lmao:

I go through this sometimes but for me I'd say it's more like I'm just not in the mood to play anything.. this doesn't happen to me very often since I don't have a large amount of games to choose from, but eventually the urge to play comes back after I go away from them for a bit.

I've had that lately. Today I decided to finally try Bulletstorm which I got during the Steam sale.

Once I finally launched the game, Games for Windows Live put me back in my place.

Yeah, this is pretty high on my list of 1st world problems.

I want to start playing Skyrim again, and have recently purchased Dragonborn, yet i can't motivate myself to actually play the game, and it's pissing me off.

I can't play other games either. At least not for more than a few minutes.

More than I could count, have I felt this way. And it annoys me greatly. Sometimes I just take chances and play one out of the many games I contemplate on playing and I end up enjoying the time playing it and end up playing it extensively. Sometimes I just don't play any video games at all and do something else. The later tends to help more.
