PC GAMERS/CRYSIS3, Will you upgrade or built a new Computer?

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 4:03 pm

Guys, do you plan to upgrade (at least Video-card?) or built a new PC (like plenty of players did for BF3) to take advantage of "THE 2013 game of the year FPS" ?

Yup, the GPU.
Next year, it'll be time for me to get DX11 and other shiny stuff!

Depends, if I see a nice opportunity. I don't think I'll be having any problems though if I don't.

If you have a Dx11 GPU you have absolutely no need to upgrade. At least not until you actually get the game.

Well, I was planning to buy a new PC, so that's a good chance for me. Atm I'm playing with my notebook, so I'll buy new desktop like Core i7-3960x, 12gB RAM, 2x 460gB SSD + 2tB HD, GTX690, etc.

Depends on whether the game will be a real Crysis game or a sequel to the linear abomination that came out last year.

"sequel to the linear abomination"

objectivity:

Striving (as far as possible or practicable) to reduce or eliminate biases, prejudices, or subjective evaluations by relying on verifiable data.

-) Less free than Crysis 1 doesnt make it a linear "abomination".
There were enough action bubbles where you are free to find your own through the game.

So cut the crap.

^ +1

Well, for me, I won't, because I just built my new PC and I don't have the money to change anything. I still need to buy the screen, lol

I don't think you have to upgrade if you can run Crysis 2.

You could try taking some of your own advice. Crysis 1 was linear, but spacious and with a huge amount of freedom on how to approach your linear goals. Crysis 2 is just as linear, but with significantly less space in which to move, significantly lower levels of environmental interaction and all around less choice.

There are no opinions or prejudices there, that much is fact.

"For your post, yes. For Metallic's, no."

Exactly!

Its an opinion to say: "id like Crysis 1 more because its gameplay was less linear than Crysis 2s."

But with malapropisms like "linear abomination" we get far away from any objectivity.

Also it is objective to say that Crysis 2 is way less linear than any Call of Duty game or any Battlefield Single Player Campaign.

Same goes for: Crysis 2 was way more linear than Crysis 1 and Warhead.

These are facts. So i dont know why youre blaming me for not following my own advices.

Iam certainly not the one that is throwing unobjective insults like "abomination" at this game.

I will but not only for Crysis 3... I'm most centred in Metro the last light. And future games.

i got 150+ fps with crysis 2 with the lame update patches. I guess part 3 will have about the same setting. I still expect to get a decent frame rate. It still a year away and if any, i only need to upgrade on my gpu. First let see how this third installment hold on the pc. I expect a small console type game with dx 11, so i will probably still be able to run it on max. Donnno yet.

I'd definately like to build a new comp. All I can really keep out of my old one is the HDD and my GPU, since my 5670 is more than enough for Crysis or Crysis 2. I just need something better than my Pentium D, which also entails replacing my motherboard, ram and case, since I've got a BTX board right now.
